Hammerin Hokies (21-5) get back at it tomorrow at Marshall at 6pm on ESPN+ after taking two of three from Pitt over the weekend and moving up to 11th in the polls.
They finish the week taking on #21 (Preseason #1) Wake Forest (17-10) at home. Friday is 7pm on ACCN. Saturday is 7pm on ACCNX. Sunday is 1pm on ACCNX.
Lady Bombers (25-8-1) play Wofford at 3pm at home on Tuesday after a tough weekend getting swept by #5 Duke. They end the week at NC State (18-16). Friday is 6pm on ACCNX. Saturday is 4pm on ACCNX. Sunday is 5pm on ACCN.

Hokies baseball is postponed today with no set make up date due to rain.
Updated rankings have softball 13th this week.
Softball slated to play Liberty at 6pm tonight. Not sure if weather will be a factor. Yesterday against Wofford was cancelled.
With the thunderstorms we're getting in Lynchburg, Liberty may have difficulties just driving to Blacksburg.
Can't they just ask for Noah to build a boat for them.

Hokies fell behind 3-0 in top of 2nd but get two back in bottom half. Eddie Michelletti unfortunately could not repeat yesterday's grand slam magic and strikes out with bases loaded to end the inning.

Hokies bats sitting on their shoulders. Hokies have now struck out 26 times in 13 innings against Wake. 18 yesterday and 8 more so far today. Can't keep leaving it in the hands of the umpire who has shown he has a consistent extra large zone off the left hand hitters box.

Yeah at least half have been looking. It's been a tough watch. Umpire tonight had a very expanded strike zone but he was consistent with it and guys kept taking borderline pitches that mostly cost them.
Expanded zone or not, we couldn't hit water if we fell out of a boat this weekend.

A little late to the party here, but...
That first out in the 4th really affected how the rest of the game played out. I appreciate being aggressive, but when you haven't done much for something like 20 innings I think wisdom can be the better part of valor. That first out at home plate would have, if we had held at third, with the next batter, given us a run on a sac fly. I'm not saying we would won, but I do think it could have changed the complexity of the game.
