Looking for something to listen to while I sit in my car more and more each day with kids in different schools, sports and activities.
There are so many options out there I'm not even sure where to start.

It's popular so not unique but the Conan O'Brien podcast is usually very good and very funny.

I will happily second SZD, Shutdown Fullcast, and We're Not All Like This. Hoping whenever Ryan gets to the Hokies that Joe is one of the guests (historically when Tech comes up on the fullcast you pretty regularly hear Holly and Spencer say how much they love Joe)
Godfrey shouts out TKP occasionally too. Spencer went on 2 Deep a few months ago too. That was pretty cool.
Yeah that was awesome and it was great hearing him praise tech. I love that with the running joke that Godfrey hates your team he basically takes any chance he can to talk about how Tech has a special place in his heart
SZD of course is good. I'll add Cover 3 as well for college football. You do have to get over a lot of Michigan/Alabama/Ohio State talk that they do for clicks and some corniness from Chip. But Bud Elliott drops some solid knowledge about teams around the league, Tom is a pretty entertaining host and I've grown to really like Danny Kanell as a fellow ACC lover.
Overall they do a pretty good job talking about all the teams, although they do occasionally go 15 minutes straight talking about Alabama or Georgia (which I always skip). Better than the ESPN guys who pretend teams outside the top 10-15 programs don't exist
Bud is legit. My FSU friend sent me Bud Elliott's VT/FSU preview on the NoleCast, and it was so detailed. He knows more about personnel than anyone else in college football media - by a wide margin.

I can't wait to see what everyone else recommends, because I feel like I'm new to podcasts in general and I know I'm missing out on a lot of good ones.
I guess they are tied into sons now, but don't forget Two Deep. They're my favorite VT related pod.
They're definitely one of the most TKP adjacent. One co-host Pete was once frequent poster on these boards and you'll still see him pop up every now and then. French and Joe have been repeat guests. Joe, typically with a PBR in hand.
Boundary Corner has 4ish regular hosts, including Shelton Moss. Also a good pod. Definitely a more of "shoot the sh!t" style podcast that is more conversational on all things Hokies, good and bad. They had one of the more interesting end of season shows with Kevin Drones (Kyron's father) and Chris Lester (Brodie's father).
They are very TKP Adjacent. I stopped listened to them because by the time they released an episode, I already read everything they were talking about TKP in the days prior.
Don't forget Hokie Hangover and VT4L (Virginia Tech is For Legends, formerly "Don V Fridays").
VT4L is by far the most entertaining VT pod. NSFW, though.
The idea of Fireman (who I've never met, but know only from his online persona) listening to VF4L on a long car ride makes my giggle like Ron Swanson.
Are there any good history podcasts out there?
Not strictly history, but Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History is one of my favorites. The older seasons stay more historical though. Has a whole season on WW2.

Dan Carlin Hardcore History is amazing for history. You just need to put it on 1.5x speed because he talks kind of slow but he does a great job providing context to the different subjects. For example, he did an episode on the cuban missile crisis and it ended up giving 15 years of info prior to that to set the stage.
Dan got me through many road trips from Houston to Tampa
Hardcore History is by far my favorite podcast and I listen to a lot with the amount of driving I do. I had listened to all the episodes that were on Spotify so I was about to pay the $80 for the whole catalog but then they released a few more for free. I was like sweet score but now I've listened to all those lol.
Revolutions podcast is fantastic. Story telling style working through all the major world revolutions starting at the English civil war and going on from there. Really good for historical perspective and understanding why some countries are the way they are. Also, there are like 10 seasons so you won't run out of content any time soon. Language is family friendly for the most part. There are the occasional ass, bastard, and maybe Sonofabitch. But these are few and far between.

it really is brilliant. Excellent delivery. Dry humor and holy crap is there a ton of information. I thought I knew history until I listened to this. He also has a history of Rome podcast he wrapped up before starting revolutions, but I haven't listened to that one yet. Also has multiple books out at this point. Mike Duncan, fyi.
Seconding Revolutions. Also enjoyed the host Mike Duncan's book about the Marquis de Lafayette "Hero of Two Worlds".

Also really like Advisory Opinions. Legal podcast mostly covering current events surrounding the Supreme Court and federal cases. Warning: hosts are conservative/right of center but by no means toe the line MAGA or anything. Listening to the backlog would probably not be helpful because so much is driven by current events though. 2x/week.

Hamish and Andy: Australian radio show now turned podcast. Extremely funny and again a big backlog
Behind The Bastards: Indepth look at some of history's worst people. Incase the first two were too positive, this will straighten it out
It's Always Sunny: If you like the show, fun to hear them talk about it and the development of the show. Stopped last year though and hasn't resumed
Are You Garbage? 2 Philly comedians who either talk together and take questions or interview (mostly comedians) to find out how they grew up/live and whether it's classy or trashy.
Hello from the magic tavern is really good, but huge backlog is an understatement and it follows a story arc. So it's difficult to just jump in.
eh, story arc is pretty loose. Not much of the story is key to actually enjoying the episodes. But yeah, I think I started it in 2018 and only like 3 months ago got caught up on it.
Behind the Bastards is fun. Some historic accuracy mixed with satire.
If you want to listen one of the most interesting people and stories I have ever come across listen to S-Town.
That type of podcast isn't usually my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed S-Town.
For a non-sports pod, and if you love movies, you should take a look at The Rewatchables podcast. They have a huge catalogue of films, but I think the full catalogue might only be available on Spotify since The Ringer acquisition. They are typically quite funny, but they also really love the films they are discussing.
Interesting podcast by a guy I knew from Tech called That Don't Sound Right. I've listened to a few episodes, and they're somewhat thought-provoking.

Sloss and Humphries on the Road: Daniel Sloss and Kai Humphries are Brit standup comedians. They do a weekly pod, often while touring, mostly just shooting the shit and busting each others balls.
The Fifth Column: Three journalists talk about the weeks news stories and why most news organizations kinda suck in the way they cover them. There's a bit of a small-l libertarian slant at times, but they aren't pushy about it.
I don't listen to podcasts that much anymore but I used to listen to these religiously:
A friend recommended Dolly Parton's America to me yesterday. I haven't listened yet but it is a biographical podcast into the one and only Dolly, her music, her life, and her affect on America at large. It's supposed to be extremely positive and a great pick me up which tracks given how amazing of a person Dolly is.
How to Invent a Country by the BBC is a must listen for anyone interested in social sciences.
