McCall QB1 announced on Instagram that he's retiring from Football due to injuries.
He took a hit earlier this season which took off his helmet and he went to the hospital.
He took a hit last year that was a head injury.
He states a brain specialist recommended he quite while he's a head.

Here's hoping he's 100% and the injury never rears it's ugly head again.
This is the kind of comment that I come here for.
I hate that he has to hang em up, but he's doing the smart thing. I saw that hit he took a few weeks ago. I thought he might have been paralyzed by the hit until he gave the thumbs up coming off the field.
Yeah, some people don't have any luck at all.
Meanwhile in Miami
Probably the right call. That hit he took a few weeks ago was scary.
Maybe the Dolphins should have Tua see the same specialist as McCall.
Tangential thought: if not for FSU, NC State would likely be the most disappointing team in the ACC this year. Their offense has struggled (they have never been overly dynamic during the Doeren era) but the Defense ranks among the bottom of the ACC in nearly all major stat categories.
Agreed - the all world LB that wore shorts in games is gone, and I'm glad we don't play them because Conception would beat Delane like a rented mule constantly and we would lose.
Sad to see but glad he's convicted enough to hang them up now and not take anymore unnecessary hits to the brain bucket.
On another note, McCall's Coastal teams were absolute cover-monsters if you were a gambler. A lot like Army this year. Just bet them to cover every week and you'll come out on top.
Feel bad for him. He has 2-3 years eligibility remaining, depending on waiver.
Was curious to see how you would tied eligibility or NIL into this topic.
McCall is 23 years old and started his college career in 2019. 6 to play 6... no rules.
2019 - Redshirt
2020 - played - covid
2021 - played
2022 - played
2023 - played
2024 - G transfer final season of eligibility.
5 to play 4... errrr its 2024, that doesn't apply.
Don't waste your time with facts, it won't make a difference.
yep- fucking was on a roster 6 years.. facts... Dispute them.
There are literally thousands of football players who run out of eligibility every year. Just because there are a few who get waivers doesn't mean there's "no such thing as eligibility anymore". It's pointless hyperbole and it adds nothing to the conversations on this message board.
Don't worry. He doesn't care and will forever complain
Which is a fine point but McCall didn't even get a waiver...just his covid year back.
BYU vs Coastal Carolina was one of my favorite games of the last decade. Thanks everything McCall!
Now you have Michigan QB1 Jack Tuttle also retiring. Concussions and a UCL repair that wasn't right.
