Per 24/7's Evan Watkins, Wake Forest wide receiver Donavan Greene has committed to Virginia Tech. Greene was primed for a huge season during Sam Hartman's last year at Wake and was putting up numbers when an injury ended his season. Healthy he gives VT a large vertical threat who can win 50/50 balls.

Greene went to the same high school in the same county as Benji Gosnell, Tyler Mason, and Deric Dandy.

He's a deep threat that can also go up and get the ball. Great pick up.
Pretty sure he and Benji played against each other. Greene went to Mt Airy and Gosnell was at East Surry.
TY, fixed. In a rush trying to make our reservation at Aberdeen Barn before the storm hits.
When healthy he is an upper tier ACC WR.
I think this is a huge get IF he can stay healthy.
Ali Jennings version 2.0, or is that a little over-critical? (Honest question)
This was my first thought, too. Hopefully he can be more healthy than Jennings was.
Definitely a similar situation in terms of proven production and injury risk.
He didn't get as many touches and has had way more injury issues (missed two full seasons.) Healthy, I see him more as a replacement for Felton than Jennings. I don't know if he will be a high volume guy, but gives them a guy who can go up and win a ball.
So does this mean Greene will have 2 catches while at VT compared to what seemed like Ali's only one?
The Forest getting a little less Greene I guess.
I'll see myself out.
18+ ypc on 102 catches...nice upgrade
Unfortunately, at least as a rather casual recruiting follower, I am unable to gauge the profundity of this aquisition without details about the NIL deals involved. I mean, did we win a NIL auction? Did we overpay? Are the injuries underplayed and we're getting a bum athlete? This shit is just too hard to keep track of, get excited about, or disregard as underwhelming recruiting.
He's cousins with Tyler Mason
