There was worry that this was not going to be approved in time for our game. (Un)fortunately, it was just granted this afternoon, providing a major weapon for SC to have at their disposal in Atlanta.
The NCAA has approved a waiver for South Carolina standout running back Rahsul Faison that makes him eligible to play this season, his agent @BNM_777k of @TheFamilie_ tells @CBSSports.Big development for South Carolina, which had been working for months to get Faison eligible.... pic.twitter.com/Unew56f9J5— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) August 25, 2025

Quick take aways:
-Of course he was approved...
-He has an agent that pulled the strings for this!!!
-No way VT would have either of these things, we just play the "game" differently.
25 years old.
Clearly needs more eligibility.
Guys who are closer to 30 than 20 playing against 18 year-olds who have potentially been on campus for a grand total 4 weeks seems to challenge the limits of calling something a sporting contest, no?
They're just helping us Hokies prepare for the NFL. Case in point, Super Bowl LV where a 43-year old QB played against a lot of 20-somethings.

Can't wait for that 149 yards rushing with 3 TD stat line from a player that shouldn't be playing.
I do not know the details here, why did he need a waiver?
From my Gamecock brother in law:
His story is interesting. So I get why he got it. They counted a year where he enrolled as a regular student at Marshall but had to quit due to family issues as his "first year" but he never was on a football team. The next year was Covid. Then he went JUCO
My guess is he didn't earn enough NIL last year.
Because he started college in 2019.
He was at a junior college for 2 years and that now doesn't count anymore.
He has no options to play professionally so the world must subsidize him to be a professional college player as long as he can find a lawyer to file lawsuits on his behalf.
I mean I'm glad we get them at full strength. He's going to make them much harder to defend as he should be consistent on the ground and yes he's old.
Also we would have never gotten this waiver to go through.
Reassessment after the Woodson news: this is horseshit and I wish he wasn't playing.
Even more reason for Woodson to play the next two weeks before serving his suspension against ODU and/or Wofford. Or not at all, who cares at this point?
