This is our
thirdsecond script helmet this year. I would like a little more variety. I like the script, but I want some T in the V, gobbler, and TECH with VA silhouette alternates too.Happy to see we finally started using orange facemasks this year. I think they look even better than expected with these uniforms.
There have been a lot of script helmets in CFB this year and I feel like they are a bit overdone. These look nice, but I feel like every weekend I am seeing someone with a script something.

I think they did the following:
White helmet, maroon VT against SCAR
Normal maroon against Vandy
Normal maroon against ODU
Red white and blue script Hokies against Wofford
Normal maroon against NCSU
White helmet with orange VT against WFU
Normal maroon helmet against GT
White helmet with maroon VT against Cal
And now this maroon script helmet.

You're right the orange script was last year. I've memory holed the last season and a half.
The metallic orange script with the metallic orange facemask is fire.

I'm good with more variety and the script Hokies is a good wordmark that should be used far more often in our branding.
But I do wish it was white lettering with an orange outline.
I'm thinking they are just reusing orange stickers from last season's order that they used for orange effect.
If they want to use the script Hokies word mark more often going forward, I bet we'll see a white script Hokies on a maroon helmet one day, just not this season.
The orange lettering also leans more into a Halloween vibe which works for just this upcoming weekend. I agree the white script would look better generally.

Script is ok (I can generally take them or leave them), but I can's stop staring at the gash in the maroon paint below the O in Hokies.
I don't know what kind of lighting they have in the tunnel, but it makes the helmet look a terrible shade of marron at the 51 second mark, and completely different than the out in the open shots.
