Up Down Around...Any Team On Any Day Both Ways
Just a worn out road this team travels
Hokies should win but we know how Round 1 went
Tyler Johnson out again. At this point, I am assuming he is doing a medical redshirt. Can't see it going any other way.
Nate Calmese, starting PG is out for Wake. Thats 10.4 ppg, 4.9 apg, 2 rpg. This could be huge since he put up 25p, 7a, 3r in the first meeting on 9/18 shooting, 5/11 from 3.
Outside of 3p%, steals and FT%, Wake is bottom half of the ACC in almost every statistic and their record reflects it, unfortunately that didnt stop the Hokies from losing round 1.
Last time out, it was an abysmal first half that doomed the Hokies. Turnovers from Avdalas and Hansberry totaled 13 with 19 team total which led to 19 Wake points. The Hokies shot better than Wake by a couple % points and rebounds were similar BUT Wake grabbed 13 offensive rebounds which helped them crush us in paint points 40-24. Unfortunately I doubt our coaches learned the lesson of denying the paint, as you only have to look at how most of their ACC losses turned at opponents getting to the rim.
The Hokies should win but this seasons scars leave a deep impression.

LET'S GO...
HOKIES!!!!
REVENGE
We're playing an NC school twice this year? That doesn't happen often.
Guard the Cassell today fellas
Correction we are play an NC state that isn't Duke or UNC twice this year.
Two NC schools twice?!? That happens even less often
Going forward with 18 ACC teams we will only play two teams twice in a season. It will be UVA and one other. This year its Wake. The real oddity is we also dont play one team, this year we dont play Pitt.
and nothing of value was lost
Well it would have been a Q3 win there or a Q4 win at home most likely.
Welp zero closeouts on perimeter.
No idea how that was a foul on Hansberry. The Wake guy actually pushed Hansberry flat to floor while Hansberry had his hand on the ball.
Neo with a much better flick of the wrist on both of those makes
I dont understand how Lawal ends up flat on the floor under a rebounder so often.
Wow we just let them get like 5 chances in one possession.
Just let them do it again
Much better overall effort. Neo showed up. First time in a long while we have seen him attacking the rim.
We played decent defense but it was more Wake missing open jumpers.
Kind of sloppy start to 2nd half. Dumb foul by Hansberry means he probably sits most of the first 10 minutes
Can't believe I'm saying this this far into the game, but Schutt ain't shot this entire game!
They have been hands on Schutt. Couple times they had their hands around the column of his jersey up near his neck. He is about the only one they have covered outside today.
FEED THE BEAST
Defensively, we need to stay between the ball and the basket and cut off the driving lanes. Switch everything and make them shoot from outside. Maybe a zone would be good here. On wait a minute, this is a CMY team. What was I thinking?
I still dont know why Dorn gets any minutes. Gurdak on fire the last 5 minutes or so!
Good to see Avdalas having a solid night too
Dorn had a really good game against Miami. Gurdak is far more consistent though.
Unfortunately with the dumb fouls Lawal and Hansberry take they need both of them
6 Hokies now on double figures
This is the way.
