Bleacher Report is predicting the stats of the game Aug 31st. Not surprisingly, they expect a game between Gods and a HS football team:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1752622-alabama-football-predicting-a...
The Highlights:
Rushing: 238 total YDs - 3 TDs (Yeldon 101 yds, TD)
Passing: AJ McCarron 17/25, 245 yards, 2 TD
Receiving: Amari Cooper 5 catches, 97 yards, TD
Defense: 201 yds surrendered (117 passing yards, 84 rushing yards) - 4 Sacks - 3 INTs - 1 Fumble
Of course Bleacher Report would publish something like this. Looking at the stats, it looks eerily similar to the stats of the opening game against Michigan last year:
Rushing: 232 total Yds - 2 TDs (Yeldon 111 yds, TD)
Passing: AJ McCarron 11/21, 199 yards, 2 TDs
Defense: 269 yds surrendered (200 passing yards, 69 rushing yards) - 1 Sack - 3 INTs (1 TD) - 0 Fumbles
So, in your unbiased opinion (or in your orange and maroon tinted glasses) - how do you think the Hokies will compare to the Wolverines of 2012? And how do you think Alabama will fare against the Hokies?
Personally, I was extremely unimpressed with the Wolverines from the Sugar Bowl in 2012 and was not surprised with the lopsided outcome in the opening game 2012. VT, on the other hand, still barely beat the Wolverines (according to the Replay rulebook) despite dominating the game. VT has the same QB, but completely new offense and offensive staff. The Defense is essentially the same, except for the secondary which is extremely green yet extremely talented. I don't know about you, I just don't see this crushing defeat coming. I fully expect a front 7 (8) that is dedicated to stopping the run, getting after the QB, and forcing McCarron, Cooper and company to beat the secondary with quick underneath throws. If Alabama tops 150 yds of rushing, I'll be surprised (I'm expecting -30 yds in sacks). Passing around 200 yds with a few INTs mixed (Facyson y'all). Ok, I'll take off my O&M glasses now.

What does the tag Hate Week mean? IMHO Michigan's setback was a false sense of being back after their faux Sugar Bowl win.
We moved the ball with no problems between the 20s vs michigan in that game. We just made stupid mistakes in the redzone.
We also should never have tried a fake punt..we had the lead and our defense was shutting down Michigans pitiful excuse of an offense. We gave them much better field position and a little momentum and they took full advantage. #badcall
A lot of michigan fans were thanking the Hokies for handing them a win...so sad
I ain't even mad.
My whole outlook against Alabama:

Danny Coale caught the ball
Living in B1G country I have seen plenty of Michigan games and I wasnt surprised...the Dick Rod offense scored points well but when they played a team with an elite/good defense, tOSU, they couldnt do anything...Dick Rod also left their defense pretty bare alot of their success Hokes first year was probably guys left over from Carr. I quite frankly was surprised that they kept the Hybrid Dick Rod offense and Denard Robinson as their QB...They should have moved him to HB/WR and made Gardener the starter day 1 (Gardener has a better arm and fits Hoke's pro style offense better)...All that having been said I was not surprised at the outcome of the game last year and took some joy in watching them get smacked around after they lucked into a Sugar Bowl win.
