BLACKSBURG Virginia Tech senior defensive end James Gayles two sack performance in Saturdays win over East Carolina earned him the Atlantic Coast Conferences defensive lineman of the week honor, the league announced Monday.
Gayles second sack of ECU junior quarterback Shane Carden led to a fumble that resulted in a safety for the Hokies in the 15-10 win.
Techs defense sacked Carden seven times on Saturday and has 12 sacks through three games. The average of four per game ties the Hokies for third in the nation...

Eh. It'd be kinda hard to disagree with Timmy Jernigan. I love Hopkins, Maddy, hell, even Williams is playing well. But there are a few guys here or there.
