Next season I hope Trey Edmunds moves to linebacker. Did you see the hit he put on the Duke defender after the interception on the Hokie's last drive. Though they needed him there this year, he's not a natural running back. Also looking forward to upgrades at quarterback and field goal kicker.

I agree. After spending the bye week watching clips of previous running backs running through defenders (Darren Evans truck stick, Ryan Williams dragging defenders into the end zone), I'm so tired of seeing our running backs go down at the first sight of contact every time.

Great. Another Logan situation where we move them from their best position to fill a need. I get " for the good of the team," but we're talking about these kids' futures.

Trey played LB in high school, as well as RB. Wouldn't be a huge leap to have him play there again. He was the #40 OLB in the country and #11 in VA, per 247sports.

Yep.
We have some RB's on the way, and help at other positions as well. (But we still need a LB or two.)
We have a great class coming in that addresses some obvious needs.

Statistically speaking we beat them in every category I can think of yet, scoreboard says differently. I wanna blame Cody but, I know the blame lies with the offense and I really feel bad for the defense. 14 was too high of a rank anyway...

Guys, we had a terrible game yesterday we all know this. Just remember that our past coaches killed us with 3-4 bad recruiting classes. We have a good class coming in and we are getting help at the positions we need it at. It will take us a year or 2 to get back where we should be. There has been a reason the new coaches are out on the road recruiting the prospects they want really hard. Just look at auburn this year, those are all guys grimes recruited.

If some of our games were 5 quarters long this year they may have very well ended up being losses. I see this as a rebuilding year and I think next year will be too. I never expected us to be 6-1 before the year started (I also never thought we would lose to Duke). I think 2015 we may finally see measurable progress on the offense. We just have to remain level headed and open minded until then. Losing to Duke stinks but it's not the Duke of the past. It's a David Cutcliffe coached team wearing Duke uniforms.
We be aight, ya'll.

Hmmm, who is the running backs coach?? When did we stop running down hill??? Not being rude, but that position is broken and needs to be fixed
Trey drilled that guy... but it is long gone for him to make the move. He has been at RB for over 2 years and is there to stay.

Good info, Thanks. Hope it can happen.

While I don't know about real life, he is a MONSTER of a ROLB in NCAA '14. He's making plays all over the field for me.
We got whooped.

Might be no rank next week.

Upvoting this one. And if Loeffler can settle into a rhythm with enough variation to keep opposing D's honest that new talent will be put to good use.
