This might be my favorite quote ever. Concerning Hopkins playing FB

He was in there and he actually had two knockdowns in the game coming out of the backfield as a fullback, Beamer said. The problem is one of them was our own guy, Kalvin Cline. Even took him out. But he was kind of hitting anything that was in his way. And Kalvin was in his way.

Speaking of Maryland, here's the first paragraph of a nice article (read: brutal condemnation) of Randy Edsall from the Washington Post's John Feinstein:

Lets give Randy Edsall credit for one thing: Hes consistent. When Maryland wins, were told its because he and his coaches have worked so hard to rebuild the program since he arrived (in the wake of Ralph Friedgens 75-50 record that included seven bowl trips). When Maryland loses, especially in embarrassing fashion as it did Saturday, 20-3 at home against a decidedly mediocre Syracuse team its on the players.

(Hey Joe, there should be a link right here ^ but it doesn't look like it is appearing)

I read the article.....I don't know how they can expect to pull in recruits with that type of publicity. You get the feeling that Edsall is a place-holder until they get to the B1G. Somewhere, the Fridge is smiling.

based on the article, I'm interested to see how the post game handshake goes if we beat MD soundly

Onward and upward

I'm ready to see Edsall slink off into B1G ignominy. I gotta talk to my wife about going up there to see Iowa play next year.
