Injury News for Maryland

http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2013-11-14/sports/bal-maryland-football...

According to the article, freshman Moise Larose, who took at left tackle for the Terrapins after starter Mike Madaras quit the team, will not play Saturday. JR Collins and Dadi Nicolas should be primed for a big game going against someone who has either changed positions or is a 3rd team guy (a starter has not been announced, but 6'7 300lb junior Shawn Wheeler is listed next on their depth chart.)

As we noted in our game preview, the wide receiver core is already thin thanks to injuries to star receivers Stephon Diggs and Deon Long. Now Levern Jacobs is out with a concussion. Sophomore Nigel King is a big bodied (6'3 210) possession receiver who had a good game against Syracuse, and freshman Amba Etta-Tawo had over 100 yards receiving against Syracuse but was plagued with drops. Maryland only has five healthy bodies at receiver, including former VT QB Ricardo Young, who was moved to receiver this week.

On defense, starters Cole Farrand and LA Goree return at inside linebacker, but backup Abner Logan (who started at inside linebacker with Shawn Petty against Syracuse) is out for this game. Farrand had a huge game against Clemson and is a very active player with an excellent motor.

Never rooting for players to be hurt.

But VT's D Line should putt a lot of pressure on the QB, I want to see their QB pressured like Savage was; maybe throwing like Boone did; and the outcome like the Miami game.

Dadi/JR lining up against a third string lineman? I'm hoping for a field day for both of them.

At what point do you questions Maryland's strength and conditioning/athletic training programs? This team was plagued with injuries last year too, way more than anyone team normally should. Same for this year. It's nuts.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

Interesting point that the article actually cited the cause of injuries as a reflection of poor playing mechanics and fundamentals, which is directly a result of poor coaching. This should be no surprise as per the results from last season and the discontent of the fans with Edsall as a coach from the beginning.

He's no good to me dead.

I don't think the coaching staff told that one lineman to ride a scooter, so some might be coaching, but when Qb's are tearing ACL's like they are made out of paper mache, there is just a steady dose of horrible luck.

Wanna see some serious INTs action this weekend.

You mean negative FAINTs, right?

wow, so JR and Dadi against a 3rd stringer. So what you are really trying to say is

Hyping up Hokie Nation one video at a time.

Now we all have to remember to practice safe sacks, so that we are not penalized.

In that context, I find it difficult to pronounce "penalized" with the "pen" sound as a writing utensile, but rather, with the extra emphasis..... "PEEEEnalized" - *giggles*

He's no good to me dead.

You've got to wrap up before going down.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Leg drive?

I have this epic background on my computer.

I hear Alan Alda may play for MD tomorrow, given its M*A*S*H* unit status.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

I had no idea they were shooting the next episode of "The Walking Dead" in Blacksburg.

"Exit light..."

its a good thing jeremiah johnson has that hurt toe. that dude can get downright primitive with his play.

anyone? anyone?

Tyrek Cheeseboro! I'd love to live in Cheeseboro!

I read this and start to feel badly for Maryland.....

and then I remember that Terp fans threw crap at Malcolm Delaney's momma and I think:
'Karma's a bitch.'

This clip is awesome

Is there any other kind of news for MD?

I shared this (saw it retweeted by Andy earlier this week) on another forum but here it is again. Just a general list of injuries for Maryland and man are they ever banged up.

This makes me wonder about their strength and conditioning program.

Wow, MD is having the worst injury luck. Hopefully no one gets hurt Saturday for either team. The Hokies have had their share of injuries this season.
