It seems odd to me that we are one of only two bowl games not broadcast on the ABC/ESPN juggernaut....
Now with that being said, will it be a classy SEC-esque televised game or will we yearn for the mediocre ESPN coverage?

The Hyundai Sun Bowl better feature our commercial.
So close Hyundai, but it's Sandman , not Sandstorm damn it! The commercial could have been that much more epic.
I tried to talk my wife into this in our house. But the idea of trying to hang a piece of stone above a doorway and slapping it each day seemed like I was going to write my own Hokie Themed Obituary.

I don't care for them either.
As an avid Hokie and Auburn Tiger, I can tell you the Verne Lundquist is one of the worst announcers and CBS is horrible to watch a game on. regular game is 3 1/2 or so hours? Nah, let's throw and extra hour of commercials and breaks in there.
CBS is milking what's left of their CFB contract with commercials IMO.

Not to seem like a horrible fan, but it gives a way to cheer myself up after a bad loss. Except when your two teams go a combined 10-15 in the regular season.
Also, Dad is a VT grad, grew up in Atlanta, went to Auburn because VT offered 0 out of state scholarships while Auburn offered to pay all my tuition. Also have been told that Auburn's campus is basically VT's with red brick instead of Hokie Stone. Oh and no snow.

I really like Lundquist. That guy is classic. Booth analysts: Herbie > Lundquist > Tessitore > Rece > > Palmer > Pollack > > Musburger, Millen, and Danielson. If I could get a Herbie as the color guy, Lundquist as the play by play and Rece as the moderator, I'd be the happiest football watcher ever
that would be a great combo.
Palmer is underrated too. Plus he and rece are hip to the Hokie nation vibe. GO HOKIES!
No Brad Nessler? That guys my favorite announcer and the Thursday night crew of Rece David and Jesse is right up there (mostly cause of the love they gave d. Hopkins and Kyle fuller during the gt game)
I'm all for Nessler, I do really like him and Blackledge. But Verne's voice, to me, means that there is a significant sporting event going on and I should shut up and listen. I don't like Danielson all that much.
I wish I could get Herbie, Verne, Rece, and Tessitore in the booth together. But four guys calling a game would be absurd. Glad we are on CBS for this one.
I like it. I'm completely jealous when I hear the stinger for CBS/SEC football and see how good they are at coverage.

I absolutely hate CBS mostly the ads for there numerous terrible police shows, but I really don't know why the presentation bugs me so much but I have just hated it for about 10 years now because of having to watch the Patriots play on CBS every damn sunday. So needless to say I was annoyed when it was announced CBS would be carrying the Sun Bowl.
Finally a game that won't need to be streamed through my Xbox. No complaints here.
The real problem is that there are only 2 games not on ESPN. Wouldn't you rather Jan 1 be full of games on every channel? Wouldn't it be nice to not have to watch the Potato Bowl because thats the only game ESPN has that night?
