I haven't been following his recruitment. Does anybody have any idea how he's leaning? According to his 247 Page, PSU is his leader and he has a monster offer list. 247 seems to have an issue with their composite rankings right now, but he is a consensus top Dual Threat QB recruit.

I think it's more about him being realistic than being a debbie downer. From all things considered it seems as he's a heavy lean towards Penn State, would be a huge surprise if he picked VT. Maybe he pulls a Kevin Jones but doesn't seem likely.

Sadly we are loaded enough at QB right now that I think a lot of recruits might be looking elsewhere for a year or two.
If I was Wimbush, a 4 star QB prospect, I wouldn't look at the QB situation as being full enough that it would be the reason I look elsewhere. Putting my hat on as an outside observer I'd see there are two freshman, one RS-Soph, a transfer RS-JR, and a RS-SR with all of them being 3-star prospects in HS and none ever starting a college game. If Brewer won this fall then a prospect committing now would compete for an open slot as a RS-FR.
If Wimbush doesn't commit to VT I don't think it's because of competition concerns. His leader is Penn State which has a better QB situation than we do.

It definitely is crowded. But at least SL takes no years off with this position and stays aggressive. It shows a step in the right direction for sure.

He committed to Penn State.
On the bright side with Penn State adding another QB to its depth chart it might help out with getting PA 2016 QB Brandon McIlwain.
Wimbushs decision doesnt make or break Tech. Good luck to the young man. At least Tech is still in the running for Torrance Gibson.
I just hate that I gave Bleacher Report a view to see his choice. VT hat wasn't on the table. Good luck to the kid at Penn State.

"Who is this kid?"
"Oh, he's considering us? Sweet."
"Oh, he didn't choose us? Ok."
I am now exactly in the same position I was when I started my day. Best of luck to the kid at PSU.
Look at the bright side...at least he didn't choose Miami.
