The ACC will use its exhibition schedule to test out using a 30 second shot clock this coming season. This is a great move in my opinion. This will help to speed up game play and create more possessions. Feedback from its use will be provided to the NCAA for consideration as there is hope to get this established as the new norm to replace the current 35 second clock.

I wish basketball would do away with the backcourt call and just have a shot clock.
So like the women's game? While it's a great idea, what I've seen from the women's game anyway it does the opposite of speeding the game up. Teams trap a lot more which results in a lot of games in the 40s and 50s since the team with the ball doesn't have the pressure of getting it over mid court. They are content with working their way up the court and starting the offense with about 12-15 seconds on the shot clock.
Maybe it would be different for the guys, but I'd imagine they keep the call there. And if they do keep the backcourt call, they could change it to 8 seconds instead of 10 and that would definitely speed it up some.
I could see this leading to a lot more poor shot choices and transition points off of that.
this is something that has been sorely needed. I'm all good on 47-43 final scores.
I like it, as it will move the game closer to NBA speed. Watching a 58-53 game is usually not that fun. Just think about our last 10-15 games this past season.
I disagree 58-53 games can be exciting if it's because good defense is being played instead of bad basketball being played.
