OT - Graduation, Lane Style

Colleen Thom, the class of 2014 HokieBird, gets her classmates to join her in jumping to "Enter Sandman" one last time as students. This is absolutely AWESOME!! (Kudos to Bill Roth's twitter account for this gem)

As a side note, the local (Charlottesville) CBS local news played a short clip from this, without sound, and the anchors commented that they didn't know why everyone was jumping. I hadn't seen this, but even without the audio, I knew what was going on. It's Charlottesville....even the newscasters are wahoos. They'll never get it.

And by the way....you can't do this at Georgia Tech!

Woot! Pure awesome sauce.

It could be worse.

Yeah, I did that, NBD. Seriously though, that was awesome. It was great having a student who wasn't just diving in to the typical stream of cliches and bad jokes, and it was pretty special to have one last time to jump in Lane with my classmates as undergrads. It also broke the monotony of my morning nicely.

Is it football season yet?

Couldn't have ended my collegiate career any better

thats awesome. i graduated in 2008, hoda kotb was our guest speaker in lane and she put her ipod headphones to the microphone and played enter sandman, it was incredible too. congrats to all you recent graduates.

tyrod did it mikey! tyrod did it!

Yea, that was fun. The rest of the ceremony I zoned out for, but as soon as she started smiling I knew what was coming.

Rip his freaking head off!

Congratulations to new graduates.
That was very cool.

That's awesome. Congratulations to everyone who graduated.

This is way cooler than the LOLUVA graduation where they had more completions than fans at their spring game, and I think the attendees were quite disappointed when they realized they weren't attending the Kentucky Derby.

At Ga Tech... you can't do that.

Congratulations!!

I skipped out on the Lane ceremony in '05 because my family was driving into town that day. If this happened then, I'm kinda sad I missed it.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

The Lane ceremony in '05 had nothing terribly awesome about it (My then-boyfriend, now-husband got his BS in '05, so I was there)

Best duos in Hokie history: Hall & Adibi, 3rd & Tyrod, Georgia & Liz

I skipped out on the Lane ceremony in December '05, although I'm not sure where the ISEs had their commencement. Didn't matter, don't like ceremonies.

Pretty badass the faculty got in on it too!

Love the tagline ...and the acceptable term for patriotism is now "Anti-patriotismphobe"
