13?! Jebus!!!!
*joke about TimeCop offering Sills when he was 12*
Sills was quoted as saying, "I may be 12, but I'm not stupid."
Doesn't look big enough to play tight end....
Sorry, I will see myself out.
Does anyone have a Rivals/hudl/247 link for him? I saw he's in the class of 2015.
247 link. Seems like the experts think he likely heads to West Virginia.
He shoulda stuck with USC.
Thanks. Leg for the link. Sucks that he might be heading to the cousins.
Lane Kiffin and now the Cousins? Where are this kid's parents? /sarcastica, sort of
and this is why colleges shouldn't give offers to 7th graders...
This is Scot Loeffler's territory. He'll make a good QB out of Sills like he did Tom Brady.
I never thought I was "old school" until I have read all of these articles lately about decommitting, 80% committing, etc. In my mind, unless there is some kind of serious coaching change, NCAA restrictions, or philosophical paradigm shift in a University's handling of it's athletes I don't see any reason for all these changes in commitments.
I know the easy answer here is that these are young kids and, honestly, I think some of them like being courted by these coaches and once they have committed the coach(es) move the sweet talk down to the next athlete on the list.
I was just raised with the 'ol "word is your bond" mantra and think these soft commits, partial commits, decommits are just silly. If you aren't 100% sure don't commit, pretty plain and simple...or so I thought.
Don't even get me started on these top 10 and top 15 lists these kids are putting on Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Of course it's kids being kids. That's why kids break month long commitments on signing day to go with the flavor of the week. Until this fan base accepts that reality do not expect more than a 20-35 ranked recruiting class.
I'm not sure how you are making the connection to the perception of a recruit's mindset by the fanbase when making a commitment and where we are ranked in a particular recruiting class. I guess that is some higher level of football acumen that I just haven't reached yet.
Can you elaborate? I don't see what you're saying. I long ago accepted that kids change their minds constantly and a verbal "commitment" means little until the NLI is signed. Does this mean that suddenly we'll have better recruiting because I acknowledge reality? I'm a little lost here.
