"The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, was cited by the Division I Committee on Infractions in 2012 for violations in its athletics program, including academic misconduct," the NCAA said in a statement released today. "As with any case, the NCAA enforcement staff makes clear it will revisit the matter if additional information becomes available. After determining that additional people with information and others who were previously uncooperative might be willing to speak with the enforcement staff, the NCAA has reopened its investigation.
"The enforcement staff is exploring this new information to ensure an exhaustive investigation is conducted based on all available information. The NCAA will not comment further to protect the integrity of the investigation."

Don't hold your breath while you wait for something to come of this.

"Public Ivy"

The only thing in NCAA football that is a bigger "JOKE" than uva , is the division 1 infractions committee. Mark it nothing significant will happen.
Hopefully the NCAA can make the right decision once and for all .
There's a first time for everything I suppose...
Translation: 'The NCAA has to act concerned because they're taking some heat over this one....'
Here's a member of the NCAA enforcement in Chapel Hill getting 'all scary-serious' on UNC's ass:

Hahahahaha this is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never gets old
Who am I laughing at here, the guy in the front or the guy to his left who celebrates with masturbatory motions? The bayou is really a strange place
This seemed appropiate after that comment...
This guy lol
Reading the comment from UNC professor Jay Smith, who favors an NCAA investigation:
"They (the NCAA) stopped ignoring the UNC case because they couldnt get away with it anymore", Smith wrote. His reasoning is that the NCAA was embarrassed into taking this latest step.
I dunno, Jay...embarrassment got trumped by money long ago in our society. Just look around.

Special thanks should be extended to all those Wolfpack fanatical. They kept looking, kept prodding, and kept the embers glowing so that this didn't go away. Over the decades, we have all seen the 'favored few' have their transgressions ignored. Meanwhile, the sloppy schools, like NC State, got waxed by the NCAA. Ever since Valvano got exposed, State fans have blamed 'the Carolina media' and vowed revenge. This time, they might just have what they want - a black mark against Tar Heel basketball.
This stuff just writes itself. From the TKP home page, just moments ago...
i know, that ad has always annoyed the piss out of me. give me meng any day.
I've been having a really disgusting ad on my TKP pages for da U......sheesh!
So the tarHoles are getting probed again.
Isnt the ACC commissioner a former Tar Hill? Lets hope there is no bias in the investigation again.
The investigation is being done by the NCAA, not the ACC.
You say that like it's supposed to be reassuring.
Couldn't have said it better myself. +1
Saw this on reddit. For basketball only.....
Son of a...
Hey, maybe the lead investigator won't be a UNC alum this time around.
That said, I'm starting to get the feeling that UNC might eventually get hammered on this one. Not that the NCAA actually wants to hammer them for it, but there is mounting media pressure to do more than just slap them on the wrists, and the last time the media really got on their ass about something, they blitzed Penn St.
