Whit gets it! (Basketball)

Well I just received my invitation to buy Basketball tickets for this fall and finally saw what I have been requesting for years, a tiered ticket price system. If this has been posted before sorry for the repost. Our home stretch has 18 games for this fall/spring.

Maroon Tickets - $495 each
Orange Tickets - $360 each
Green Tickets -$199 each

Finally we can have access to our basketball stadium at affordable rates. I am already buying my two tickets, who else is going to be there?

I think we will see several changes instituted by Whit that are fan-friendly. Not all of them this year, but just on an ongoing basis. I just can't say it often enough - he is SUCH a refreshing change! Oh, yes, I'll be there, but as a result of owning season tickets for a long time. Much better to sell tiered price tickets than to let them go unsold, I think. So, glad you are getting tickets, and hope you enjoy!

Since I live in NOVA, I have never traveled down to Blacksburg just for a basketball game, if there was a game on the during the time I was there for the football game, I would go check it out. But with all these changes that Whit is making, I might have to finally make the drive to see just a basketball game. Its amazing how night and day the basketball program is looking just after two great hires, Whit/Buzz.

Bleeding burnt orange and chicago maroon

Any of the games scheduled for pre-January, you can just drive down and buy discounted outside Cassell. During Johnson's tenure, you could get free tickets just by showing up, but even during Greenberg's best years, you could get those tickets for $10, no problem. I'm sure the same will be true for Buzz, at least the first couple of years.

Not to nit pick here but I think it should be "maroon, orange and WHITE" tickets. Where the heck does green come from? Reminds of me of the clip from Ghostbusters II.....Do....Ray....Egon!! (I'm not skilled at doing the gif thing or else I'd come up with something)

It's a marketing ploy. You see the $199 season ticket price and you say "Hell yeah I'll buy some basketball tickets!" Then (after singing that song you wrote about Buzz to the tune of "Let it go" from Frozen) you see that it is the green section and you say "Well, that's not very Hokie. Maybe I'll splurge a little and move up to the orange group!" Then you remember the all-orange football uniforms and you say "Well I don't want to support that so I'll go ahead and get the Maroon seats!"

I like it. That just proves that Whit gets it even more!

Yeah, as a fan you've got to earn your colors! I remember when, as a young alum I first bought season tickets. At that time, O&M got you decent tickets. (a long time ago) But... I wanted to be display a 'Hokie sticker', not an O&M one. So I had to man up and increase to salve my ego. Same principle applies now.

What about Maroon, Orange, and Whit? And all the seatbacks for the Whit section have "Whitness" towels on them?

Those are for the Erick Green section. To remind fans we had an "ACC Player of the Year" in the last decade.

Green?

Blue?

Apologies for the annoying earworm, but I couldn't resist...

Yup, definitely past the point of being surprised that Whit is really, really good at his job.

I wonder if it'll be similar once individual game tix go on sale. It'd be a lot easier to decide to make a day trip on a saturday to watch some hoops and spend some time in the Burg if I knew I could get will call tix for 20-25 bucks a pop instead of 40 or 48 or whatever they all were the last few years.
