Big recruiting night

TSL has a quick write-up of some of the recruits who will be in attendance at tonight's game.

5-star defensive end Jalen Dalton, 4-star linebacker/defensive end Ricky DeBerry, 4-star defensive tackle Tim Settle and 4-star cornerback Garrett Taylor are among the recruits expected in attendance for Virginia Techs home contest against the Miami Hurricanes this evening.

For those who didn't see it in the Jalen Dalton thread, Tim Settle has cancelled his OV to Penn State this weekend. Still coming to Blacksburg tonight though!

Crystal Ball to VT for Settle

switching my settle CB to VT as well.

Every second counts

Do recruits normally hang out together during the game? All I can imagine right now is them jumping up and down to the intro of Enter Sandman.

I am pretty sure that they are all seated together when they are guest of the university.

Actually a lot of them get field access during the game, rarely sit in the stands

Plus Mook Reynolds is going to be there and over the summer and earlier this year he was pressing hard on other big name recruits to join him at VT.

I was browsing around a PSU board after I saw Settle wasn't going to be taking a visit there anymore, and I saw a few comments stating that Settle was probably going to have trouble qualifying academically. I had never heard that before about him. Has anyone else heard this or were those comments unfounded?
I would hope his academics wouldn't prevent him from potentially coming here next year because I see him doing big things right away if he becomes a Hokie.

He supposedly has academic issues but has been turning it around.

Academics are a question mark but he is working hard and improving his grades and if he continues too improve his grades I think he won't have to prep.

That's what I was thinking too, but I figured I'd see if anyone else heard anything on the matter.

That's always been the word on him but it doesn't mean much when he hasn't even gotten through a semester of his senior year of HS. A strong senior year and SAT score goes a long way. I would definitely take him...

In any case I would rather he be committed and have to prep than commit somewhere else and manage to get in.

Calling Drew Harris,

All this good news- is it possible all these potentials come true? That doesn't happen to Va Tech, does it? Wake me up, I must be dreaming. :-)
