Offeseason Fun Facts: Total wins edition

I was looking at this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_football_teams_by_wins

And saw a few interesting trivia bits. We're currently at 711 wins wins, 9 behind WVU who are the winningest FBS program without a NC. That makes us second. Also, we're tied with Georgia Tech at 711 wins each! Hopefully we'll open that gap up next season.

Hopefully we'll open that gap up stop being on a list of schools without a NC next season.

I'm actually surprised we aren't the winningest program without a NC.

I can't tell if this gives us a leg up on WVU on bragging rights or not.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Backhanded compliment at best.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

I think I'd be quite about the lack of a national title, I think VT haters remind me of it enough. Having the most wins without a NC would only serve to exacerbate the chatter.

Leg vtStronk, very interesting list there. I had NO idea we had 711 wins...I think I remember when Michigan hit 700.
I enjoyed the fact that we are kicking some SEC azz on that list, haha.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A gif is worth a million.

As much as it sucks to say there is a scary amount of statistical similarity between VT and WVU all time. Similar draft numbers, similar wins, similar All Americans, even similar number of weeks ranked but the AP.

We have way more genetic diversity though

WVU: 'do more with your smaller genotype'

We have fewer burned couches.

We have way less bottles of piss thrown...
and way less marriages that do not result in name changes...

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

We have the Black Diamond Trophy.

If we leave the NCAA we could just put that and the Commonwealth cup in the trophy case and call it a day!
