You can fix one thing about this team.
And one thing only, to help through the rest of the season. Snap your fingers and it's done, one thing....
What is it? Is it absolutely anything about the defense?
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

Despite my sadness, I still love college football and I think a lot of other people here will still be watching other games today. Currently, BYU has begun to take it to UVA, ECU is in a shootout with UNC (and is winning, so take that!), Florida and Alabama are playing a close one, and there's plenty more action later with Miss St-LSU and FSU-Clemson. Want to talk about other games? Post here and let's enjoy the remainder of the college football schedule for this weekend.
I've graduated last spring so I'm still relatively new to Virginia Tech football so I have some questions. Would someone explain to me this style of putting our corners on an island we've been playing and why Bud Foster keeps resorting to it even after we've gotten beat the past two game? Has Bud Foster always done this? What type of defense does tech traditionally play? I'm just trying to learn and get an understanding of what we've done in the past compared to what were doing now.
My gut reaction was to immediately put the blame on Brewer, thinking the run game was alright and the defense really only gave up 20 points in the end.
But, as I was about to post, I thought about it and happened to find all kinds of things to blame this loss on. Sure, brewers stats were the worst, but when Georgia tech is throwing on us to get back in a game and they convert multiple times, we've got a problem on D. Or how about the kick coverage team with an easy chance for a safety? With a gt player in the end zone everybody broke down and came out of their lanes (looked that way on replay at least) and turned it into decent field position. A safety there gets us a 9 pt lead with the ball.
What more can be said? We had an excuse last week because East Carolina was a "good" team, but today? We had too many chances and didn't come through...How's being 2-2 feel to everyone right now? Belk Bowl here we come! Your thoughts...
Two ways to watch. I would recommend watching via WatchESPN as it will provide the best quality.
1) Go to WatchESPN.com
2) Click on Remote Access
3) It will ask you for your provider. Select Xfinity/Comcast
4) It should then take you to the Comcast login screen. Enter the following:
Username: VTFootball2014 Password: Hokie4lifE
(password is case-sensitive)
5) Once you click ok/sign-in, you should be redirected back to the WatchESPN website where you should now have access to the game. All you need to do is find it and click on it. Enjoy!

Florida State announced a little after 11:00 PM last night that Jameis will miss the entire Clemson game. Below is the complete release from Interim President Garnett S. Stokes and Athletic Director Stan Wilcox.
Based upon the results of our continuing investigation of Tuesday's incident involving Jameis Winston, we have decided to not play him for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday night.
CNN's Rachel Nichols reported Winston hadn't been "entirely truthful" with FSU.
David Teel wrote a fun read yesterday about the 13 most memorable games he's seen in Lane Stadium: http://www.dailypress.com/sports/teel-blog/dp-teel-time-lane-stadium-50,....
Curious to hear which games everyone's been to, and which of his 13 is your most memorable.
I've posted in some other threads about some tough issues that have happened to my family this year, and one of the beautiful things that happened when I posted that my family was coming to the Miami game, and needed to be around the TKP family while tailgating, was that everyone said: Here's where we'll be, come hang with us!. We're happy to say that we have secured a parking pass for lot 9, so we'll be totally set to get together with a whole bunch of you all...

i just dont understand why he hasnt seen the field and cant seem to find anything out from anywhere. hes not hurt anymore as far as i know. ive seen him dressed. dinardo has played well but i have to believe that RVD would play at a min. the same with alot more upside.
"The one negative about him going into the draft was he didn't want to hit anyone," said Vinny Cerrato, a former front office executive for the 49ers and Washington Redskins. "I thought he had great ball skills, great cover skills. He just wasn't a big tackler. He had all the skills. You saw that the other night."
OK, Vinny.

Interesting reading from the perspective of the Miami players when playing Virginia Tech. I remember watching that game, felt like a punch in the gut at the end. Some quotes:
Sikes: Virginia Tech is a tough breed. They're all of the step kids. Most of them are the kids nobody wanted. They didn't get to go to the big high school, they didn't get to go to the big college. So you put them all together...
Portis: You've got to put V-Tech away. From my experience against Virginia Tech you can't let them stick around, and expect them not to make a play. They did.
A couple days ago I saw that Stanford was taking a leave of absence. I first off want to say that if it is family related than I 100% agree that he should step away from the team. There is a big part of me that thinks he sees the writing on the wall. What happen to sticking with it and pushing yourself to get better and succeed? I see it too much now that people want to transfer or leave the team because some other guy just passed him on the depth chart. I know it will continue to happen but just want to know why people think the grass is greener on the other side.
Let's welcome back Kalvin Cline to Lane Stadium! This Saturday, he will be dressing out for the first time this year #GTvsVT #Hokies— Beamer Ball (@Beamer_Ball) September 18, 2014
Kalvin missed the William & Mary, Ohio State and East Carolina games due to a knee injury.
We'll know more about his status once the injury report is released later today.
