Bitter blog - Take 5: A medical redshirt? It might be on the table for Facyson, maybe even Maddy
Virginia Tech considering medical redshirt for Brandon Facyson
Beamer on ACC teleconference said #Hokies are approaching stage where VT has to decide whether to play Brandon Facyson or seek medical RS.— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) September 24, 2014
Miami game moved to 8pm kickoff
Whit must be happy about that!
Whit Babcock Hates Noon Kickoffs Too
#Hokies AD Whit Babcock says he's communicated with ACC office about three straight midday kickoffs. Not great for business or for fans.— Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) September 24, 2014
This is a man that just knows what the hell he's doing. If he limits nooners then he could play Sandstorm on loop during the entire game and I would not care one bit.
Sadly we must deal with this issue for most of this year before we see a change.
Hatin' On - P.J. Fleck
Okay...I have no idea what went wrong last week. The formula was perfect. We hated on Urban...and won. We didn't hate on Ruffin...and lost. We hated (very well, I might add) on Coach Puss Face...and lost. This week, I think we should do a good...but not great...job of hatin'.
This week, I introduce you to P.J. Fleck. P.J. is short for Phillip John. He has a son C.J., short for Carter Joseph. AND one of his players (as TheFifthFuller pointed out) is named "J.".
So, I give you the first one:
"PJ Fleck" uses initials for names.
(yeah, I know that one sucks).

OT: This is Aargh! State
Serious #ECU trolling here. pic.twitter.com/WQSSFfpUug— Denny O'Brien (@TheDOB) September 24, 2014
I know everyone wants Virginia Tech to dip out of the ECU series, but the more I interact with their fans and see stuff like this, the more I don't mind it. They have some moxie to them, they beat us, both of which make me want to beat them more.
Six Pick: Week Five
It's Week 5 and while its a bit flat nationally, conference games are starting to get hot and heavy. There are some important tone setting matchups that are worth our attention. The ACC Coastal dream (or is it nightmare?) of all 7 teams finishing 4-4 is alive and well. Though its going to take work by Miami not to screw that up. The Canes would be wise to win this week or you can all but count them out of not making the ACC Championship Game again.
This is a reminder of what no player from Miami has yet
Ex Hokie Chris Mangus Transfers to ECU
Former #Hokies RB RT @StephenIgoe Coach Ruff confirms RB Chris Mangus has transferred to #ECU.— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) September 23, 2014
1/3 of the way there...
The Hokies have now completed 1/3 of their regular season slate. As been said before, NOBODY would have predicted THIS 2-2 record.
So far though, in your opinion, what are the biggest surprises, pleasant or otherwise, as far as player performances?
For me, pleasantly, it's been Deon Clark and Ken Ekanem. Light bulbs are really going off for those guys. Unpleasantly, through no fault of his own, is Trey Edmunds. I really thought he'd be on the field by now. The Hokies sure could use his services as a healthy tailback.
Carry on.

Western Michigan Preview Video
I have to say I gained some confidence in our chances after watching this video of Western Michigan's Intro...
I vote that Enter Sandman is a little better than this...
Six Pick: Week 4 Results
Congrats for going 6-0
alculbr3, dwalt88, Helo_Hokie, HokieinJax, Raleighwood, slicktrip
errryone beat Bruce Feldman who went 1-5
Week 4 Results:
Willie Byrn the musician
His yard after the catch has been impressive for the Virginia tech hokies, but when he is not catching passes from Michael brewer Willie Byrn seems to have found another way to relax after difficult games. On his free time, Willie byrn has learned to play the guitar and singing. Judging by this clip, his skills as a musician is almost as impressive as a receiver.
Monday Night Football: Counting on Fuller Things
Really counting on Kyle Fuller doing Kyle Fuller things tonight to cheer me up after Saturday. Kendall had a great breakup with his foot that I won't ever forget, since I was there in person. Just wish it was a better result. Ah well, looking forward to watching Kyle play tonight.

Willie Byrn Swings the Big Axe
Leadership folks, from the smallest guy out there...
#Hokies WR Willie Byrn says QB Michael Brewers made 3 mistakes Saturday. "I made 7. They just go unnoticed because of the position I play."— Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) September 22, 2014
