A recent offer netted Virginia Tech an impressive win on the recruiting trail. Jaden Payoute announced his verbal commitment to the Hokies after an unofficial visit.
Tech offered the 6-3, 195 pound Lloyd C. Bird HS stand out on June 5. Illinois, Boston College, and Tennessee quickly followed suit. Pitt was another suitor. 247Sports recently rated Payoute a 4-star (93) WR, S, CB. He turned heads at a June 5 camp at Randolph-Macon College in which Tech's coaches were on-hand.
It was great to see L.C. Bird WR Jaden Payoute at Tuesday night's RMC Football Camp with Virginia Tech. He was thoroughly impressive, and he has landed seven offers since the camp wrapped. Brandon Mitchell has the story: https://t.co/af0OrTooPX— Recruit804 (@804football) June 6, 2018
"The camp went very well. I had a 42-inch vertical and ran a 4.38 40-yard dash. I did pretty well on all my drills and won my 1-on-1's," Payoute stated.
Should that 4.38, 40 catch your eye, know Payoute blazed the track this spring.
Indeed, the Hokies locked up a verbal from a burner after an in-person evaluation in short order.
