I love the last :36 of Fuente's presser. That's what it's all about. I sincerely hope it's for the long haul.
"emotionally prepared" This dude is a crusher. Love listening to him because so much of what he says is in the nuances. Looking back at that game the difference between a close game and blow out was that we were emotionally prepared to play in the slop. Their players and fans broke before the end of the first quarter.
Onwards to Syracuse. Let this juggernaut roll.
I agree with this. It was genius to get these guys to remember what it was like as a kid to go out and play in the slop and have fun. Something about finding and setting just the right tone for the situation. I got the feeling the whole game that the Hokies were not bothered by the weather at all, in fact seemed to be enjoying it. UNC not so much. This is great coaching, it's more than Xs and Os, although they seem pretty good at that too.
Why didn't they just wheel Sam in while he was in the ice bath?
Bud honestly looks 10 years younger now. Amazing what an offense can do to a man.
Seriously. In pretty much all of his interviews this season, especially now that things are clicking, he just looks so much more relaxed and it feels like he's having a great time being able to coach the sort of defense he wants to coach. Definitely a far cry from the kind of down and out serious Bud we've seen in the past two years, and I think that that energy is translating to the rest of the defense as well.
Also looks like he's dropped some weight between last season and this one, which makes sense now that the stress of winning every game single handedly has been lifted off of his shoulders. Loving the fact that he and Fuente seem to be really getting along and enjoying working with each other.

No defensive coordinator does more with less than Bud Foster. Now he has an offensive minded head coach , his hard work will result in Ws.

The frustrating thing in the past was, VT would've lost this game 3:0 with Loeffer as OC.
I love how coach coach FU keeps saying were still not where we need to be.
This is what a good coach does until the bowls are over, at which point he says there's a lot to work on before next season. Much like Saban is saying the same thing.
