Thanks to everyone for a slew of great questions. I picked six to answer this time around, and if you all enjoyed it, I hope to do this on a more regular basis.
Which position group are you most bullish on coming into 2021? (gobble gobble chumps)
Had Doug Nester and Bryan Hudson not transferred, even with Christian Darrisaw bouncing to the NFL, the offensive line would have been my slam dunk answer. I thought Justin Fuente and Vance Vice had done a solid job building a run-first attack around an o-line with a strong backbone. That group went from stout to worrisome in a blink of the transfer portal.
Next up for me: the defensive line. I'm not over the moon about that group. It's not RMFW, David Wilson, and Darren Evans backfield quality, rather a high-potential unit. Amare Barno's upside is limitless. He learned on the fly last season, but did so disruptively. The addition of Jordan Williams is exciting, and not only for what the former blue-chip recruit might do in the trenches. A potential Clemson-to-Tech-to-NFL narrative is something the Hokies could build upon and sell in the 757. The possible reemergence of another former 4-star, TyJuan Garbutt, is also tantalizing.
