Savor This Moment

Virginia Tech women's basketball will play for a spot in the national championship game. Opportunities like this don't come around often, but there's no reason to think the Hokies can't take full advantage of it.

There was a brief moment on Monday in which everything fell apart.

It was the 8:31 mark of the second quarter. Virginia Tech guard Georgia Amoore takes a hard spill on the floor. She stands up wobbling, carried off to the locker room by a pair of assistants.

The Hokies' floor general, gone. Their season, presumably gone. At that moment, everything the girls had worked for vanished in an instant, all thanks to a cheap hit on an unsuspecting player. Classic Tech.

Except — it wasn't. Because this team is different.
