Would you like to rock one of The Key Play's new Buzzketball T-Shirts? If so, all you need to do is correctly predict how many passing yards Clemson and North Carolina will combine for in the ACC Championship Game. Leave your guess (educated or otherwise) and a sentence or two with your thought process in the comments.
Don't forget to follow TKP on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Each week throughout the season TKP will give away tickets to Virginia Tech's remaining home games as well as swag from our online store.
The rules are:
- Must be over 18;
- Price is Right rule is in effect, you need to be closest to Clemson plus North Carolina's passing yards without going over;
- Picks are first come, first serve. In other words, there'll be 0 or 1 winners. If you duplicate someone else's existing pick, you lose.
- One entry per person;
- Do not, for any reason, edit your comment/picks. The database stores both a comment created date and last edit date. If those two aren't equal, you're disqualified;
- Picks must be in before 7:00 PM EST on 12/8/15;
- Statistics will be sourced from cfbstats.com;
- Much like with Powerball, you must claim your prize. If you are the winner, email joe thekeyplay [dot] com, and your claim will be verified. Claims submitted after 11:59 PM EST on 12/8/15 will not be verified.
This post is also Championship Saturday's open thread.

Tight window. Bold.
As required by TKP rules:
So Clemson really needs to step up.

Also, this seems to be one of the most lack-luster championship weekends that I can remember. I mean some games may turn out to be good but for all intensive purposes everyone expects Bama to crush Florida, Clemson to beat UNC and Michigan St to beat Iowa. In each championship game one team has wins over tough ranked opponents and the others seem to have much weaker schedules. Houston Temple and Stanford USC may be the most exciting games match-up wise. But even Stanford USC still seems only ok to me. I'll watch the game but right now I'm looking at it like "ehhh"
*I say this without looking at anything and from what I can remember of the season.*
IDK, I think Iowa has a shot, and the UNC/Clemson game should be entertaining at least

Nope. But that's based on ESPN's stats, which are not what are used here. Though they're typically right.

Texas and Baylor is getting chippy. Texas up 17-0.
Baylor is throwing INT's right to Texas. Another chippy "incident " after this one.

Both QBs are missing just about everything they throw tonight.

Too much good/meaningful football in the same time slot. My remote batteries are going to die.
And how do the networks seem to synchronize the commercial breaks so well?
Come on Clemson pull this out, send VT to the Belk Bowl.
It's all good. They got this. Belk bowl it is. I'm calling it.
Also F Dabo, he not only threw his punter under a bus on a national TV interview but tracked him down to berate him on he sideline TWICE!
Yea, and he also did a pretty cool thing to honor Beamer.
And? I'm talking strictly about what he did during tonight's game.
Didn't much like it either. But, if that decision was not an option that they practice, I have no problem nominating it for bonehead play if the week. But yeah, get over it Dabo. If that punter muffs a snap or something now, it's on Dabo.
I'm probably in the minority but I don't mind. Now if that becomes a reg that's another thing.
I'm not a fan of him saying his punter cost them 7 points. The punter doesn't play defense.
That's what he said right before half time to the reporter, correct? Ok, I'll give you that. Dbag move. But yelling and berating on the sideline I always thought was kind of a coach thing. And hey, it seemed to work on that last punt from him. Bought extra time on that delayed punt.
I think it's OK to chew him out once, Dabo did it about three separate times. The kid knows he fucked up, no need to relive it multiple times. Assuming this is the first time the punter's made this mistake. If he's done this multiple times, well, that's another issue.
This is when I got a bit upset at him, too. Went and found him after the UNC TD and (I think) said "that's on you." I agree with the initial tongue-lashing, but then to dump on him even more strikes me as too much.
Can we please please please get rid of these slick surfaces on the sideline. In what world did every stadium decide that it was fun to have slippy slides on the sideline?
I've been thinking the same thing. Does anyone know why those are there?
I think they are there to keep the field from getting torn up with all the players walking up and down the sideline. But I think there should definitely be a better way to do it without using the slip n' slide material.
Right in front of the home crowd. That's gotta be embarrassing.
MSU Iowa is coming down to the wire.
Kudos to the Hawkeyes but I want the Spartys to pull it out.
No come on IOWA!!!
A lot of people owe Iowa an apology for talking about them like they were an FCS team throughout this year.
Jeez, I just can't win with you two tonight. It pisses me off that they won 12 games in a year before Tech has.
I like both teams. No arguments from me.
Loving this game.
Iowa's defense needs a 5 hr energy
What effort!
Kid is a true freshmen doing that.
ROFLMAO! Doesn't get much better than seeing Fedora pissed off.
Yeah but the ACC officials just stole a successful onside kick from UNC.
This entire year has been a shit show by the ACC and its refs!
The ONE time the Acc stripes do RIGHT by Beamer (sending us to the Belk bowl).
Wasn't close to being offside. It's awesome seeing UNC get screwed over, though. Suck it Tarholes.
You took the words right outta my mouth. Suck it Fedora. Suck it long and SUCK IT HARD! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!
Here we come Belk bowl!!!!
So is the total number 529?
According to ESPN, Passing yards were 240 for UNC and 289 for Clemson, so it sounds like it, although GuitarMan says above that ESPN isn't the source for the stats.
I can't believe how bad the ACC refs were last night. This whole season has been a shit show for them.
So, is Clark suspended for half of the bowl game too?
I can't believe how badly UNC got jobbed on that "offsides" penalty on their recovered on-sides kick. What a joke. Nobody was within a yard of the LOS for that call to be made. Seems like the ACC really wanted Clemson in.
