Virginia Tech running back Shai McKenzie was suspended indefinitely from all team activities on March 4, 2015 after he was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. McKenzie appeared in court Thursday.

At 2:36 PM Thursday Mike Barber reported McKenzie is expected to be back with the Hokies at the start of August camp.

McKenzie was previously cleared of any university sanctions at the end of March.
McKenzie suffered a tear of his right ACL against Western Michigan last season, the same knee McKenzie hurt he was a senior in high school. Team doctors operated on McKenzie's knee in October. Legal troubles aside, McKenzie was expected to miss spring practice while he rehabbed his knee. It's unclear if McKenzie will be medically cleared to actively participate in August practice.
Before he tore his ACL last fall, McKenzie rushed for 269 yards and three touchdowns on 53 carries (5.1 YPC).
