Baseball (25-12) fell out of the rankings after losing two out of three against #7 Duke. Bullpen continued to be a major black hole in the two losses. Hokies have allowed 8+ runs in six of their last nine ACC contests.

Used ten pitchers but had 11 strikeouts and only two walks.
Hokies had five homeruns but also got clutch hitting with runners on.
Safe to say the offense didn't want to take any chances with the our bullpen last night?
Offense just managed to hit the ball. Very few strikeouts for a change. Mason pitchers walked/hit quite a few to set the plate. Bullpen basically pitched whole game and gave up 5 runs to one of the worst offenses in the Atlantic 10. Mason has one hitter that should probably be at a bigger school in Jordan Smith. Couple other decent hitters but not much there.
Mason will be the program that gets in the tourney one year, gets hot and wins a college world series. That can never be VT, lol.

I just think this is who they really are. They beat up on the lesser teams early but then the opponent quality ramped up and they didnt

Hokies botch a great chance at turning two in bottom of the ninth. Still 4-3. Runner on first, liner right to second baseman. Had runner dead to rights at first but couldn't get the ball out of his glove.
Hokies get a strikeout to end the game. Avoid the sweep with the 4-3 win
