My Top 5/6 #
Ryan 'Lil Sweetness' Williams: Really wish he hadn't dashed for the NFL early.
Corey Moore: Great defensive lineman who brought a lot of attention to Bud Foster's Lunch Pail D.
Macho Harris: I miss seeing such a compact-sized player delivering such big hits on opposing offenses. Man, was that fun to watch. But I think we have a good replacement for Macho in Kyle Fuller.
Tyrod Taylor: This man has to be in your top 5. One of the all-time winningest QBs at Tech. Without him, a lot of the W's over the past 4 years would be L's. Uncanny ability to stay calm under pressure and get it done in the clutch (see Nebraska '09).
Danny Coale: It seems like nobody ever feels like they have to cover this guy. Pretty stupid, considering he's our 2nd leading receiver in just about every major category in the record books. His legacy will be forever cemented with this bone-chilling commentary by Sean McDonough, which I am not ashamed to admit, I have watched 1,000 times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4WGOZVTCK4
Brent Bowden/Shayne Graham: It was hard to keep it cut down to five people. And I think we can really appreciate the skills of these two gentlemen with our kicking issues this season.
No lie, I bleed M&O.
Actually, screw that link. #
This one gives a much wider coverage of the end of that game.

I'll copy my post from the Danny Coale post #
Cyrus Laurence - Possibly as good as DW, before a knee injury ended his career. He never had the offensive line that DW does, so that impacted his numbers. But an incredible back.
Bruce Smith - possibly the best football player I have ever seen
Corey Moore-a fantastic DE...but might make my list if for no other reason, he coined the term "Terror Dome".
Tyrod-how consistent he was is still a marvel
Jim Pyne-best OL ever in maroon and orange
as no. 6 I'd have Michael Vick-VT would have had a much slower rise to national prominence w/o Mr. Electric
Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.
My Guys #
1. Tyrod- spent the same years at Tech as me, complete badass, no other explanation needed
2. Michael Vick- wasn't a fan when he was in school, but love watching him in the pros now
3. Macho Harris- mr do-it-all, great athlete
4. Andre Smith- did everything the right way, and ended up being a huge redzone weapon his senior year
5. JC Coleman- love how this kid is gung-ho about us, recruiting other guys, and seems like a playmaker

My top five Hokies since we're listing:
1) Bryan Randall- 2004- made all the big throws that year. ACC POY. Nicest person as well.
2) Tyrod Taylor- 3rd and 31 against FSU in '07 sealed the spot in my top five but just kept going up and up.
3) Danny Coale- He's like 7-11: "not always doing business but always open"
4) Xavier Adibi- originally had a tie with him and Hall but 'X' at his best was a top five linebacker in the COUNTRY. Loved Hall but X took so many games over in '06/'07.
5) Jeff King/Justin Harper (CHANGE/TIE)- both incredible pass receivers who made ridiculous game saving or winning grabs more than once.
At six I would also place Vick like some others and Vince Hall- (Vick) best player in school history, but only starting two years hurts him in my list and Hall was a great linebacker but I remembered the LSU game in 2007 (awful memories) and the way he got destroyed by LSU's center on nearly every running play still sticks out.

Just five? Wow, this is hard. (that's what she said) #
1. MV1 -- Why did we RS him my freshman year in 1998?
2. Randall -- 2004 was my favorite season (other than '99, of course).
3. Tyrod -- In Tyrod We Trust, nuff said.
4. Moore -- I miss having a DE who was in the backfield on EVERY SINGLE PLAY.
5. Sean Glennon -- sike, Kevin Jones, so much fun to watch.

I need to bleach my eyes after your fake #5
My five #
I started at VT in fall of 1995. So my 5 are influenced by what I remember watching.
1. Tyrod Taylor
2. Michael Vick
3. Lee Suggs
4. Brandon Flowers
5. Corey Moore
Honorable mentions: Xavier Adibi, Andre Davis, Ike Charlton, Eddie Royal, Cody Grimm
Logan Thomas, David Wilson, and Kyle Fuller are quickly moving up this list.

Danny Coale #
He is now firmly in my top 5 favorite players.

1, 2, and 3, in whatever order you want: Vick, Randall, Tyrod. I can't leave any of these guys out. They all are so different, yet so similar. All winners, all POY's. I refuse to choose. Okay, Vick is number 1, but only cuz I was a kid then. Hero status.
4. Corey Moore....Terror Dome....Wood-Shed....Need I say more? Dude did whatever the hell he wanted on defense and special teams (when he wasn't playing Florida State.....)
5(tie). Bit of a curveball here, but gotta go with Jamon and Zab. Was in the front row for the win in Cameron Indoor, front row for win over #1 UNC 7 days later in Cassell, 2nd row for the NCAA games, 3rd row for the win over Duke first year in ACC (best game ever. how did we win that game???) .... just too many good personal memories from those guys.
Also would like to throw out an honorable mention to any and every legacy player that has ever suited up for Tech. I am all for family goin to the same school. Respect. My siblings and I like to consider ourselves legacies(legacy's?) of the downtown Blacksburg team, rather than an athletic team, but I still can connect. So yes, that means Marcus Vick has somehow just snuck onto this list...

Tough One #
1. MV1 - still don't think I've seen a CFB player as exciting, plus what he indirectly did for the school
2. Corey Moore - another player that teams could not stop, ultimate competitor
3. Lee Suggs - the offense has changed so that has affected the current, great RBs we've had, but I just loved his running style
4. Jake Grove - I want an O-line consisting of 5 of his clones
5. Tyrod - his career speaks for itself
Honorable Mentions - I'm right there with D99Hokie above - Xavier Adibi, Andre Davis, Eddie Royal, Cody Grimm, Danny Coale, Brandon Flowers, Darren Evans, Ryan Williams, Willie Pile, and I'll just stop there because I could add at least 25 more
Favorite, not best #
1.) Ben Taylor - kid was a beast and played hard
2.) Corey Moore - "Welcome to the Terror Dome!"
3.) Michael Vick - I still get giddy when I watch his Tech highlights
4.) Lee Suggs - dude had a TD in every game in which he played!
5.) Cols Colas - For a small DE he was a beast with 14.5 sacks in 2 seasons. Plus, I sat beside him in a Math class. He was hilarious and it was fun watching him hit on a hot volleyball chick for a semester.
thanks #
i was definitely going with favorite, not best.
thanks for sharing.

Top 5 #
I'm the first person in my family to go to Tech after we moved to Virginia in 2000 so I wasn't a fan until I got to school in 2007. These are in no particular order.
1. Eddie Royal - bought the #4 jersey my freshman year. DW you're amazing but #4 will always be Eddie to me. (and I know there's been many great #4's before Eddie. great number to wear at VT)
2. Tyrod Taylor - Enough said there.
3. Darren Evans - To burst on the scene out of nowhere and always handle himself with class - before, during, and after his injury.
4. Jason Worilds - What a motor that guy had. And played through his dislocated shoulder for about two seasons. And the fact he refers to the school he went to as "Lunch Pail D" on TV now.
5. Danny Coale - Another class act on and off the field. If every player on the team played like him we'd win a national championship.
HM: Logan Thomas will be on many top 5 lists in the years to come. So will Kyle Fuller.
