Oregon is on to something..time for VT to follow suit

http://espn.go.com/blog/pac12/post/_/id/86125/oregon-athletic-department...

So it looks like Oregon collects up all the sporting gear that the athletic department doesn't use anymore and sells it to the general public for steep discounts. They get to clear their racks for when Nike fills them again with hundreds of new designs in the fall and the fans get to get game worn jerseys and other gear for their fan caves.

Whit is pretty open minded and progressive, any chance that VT gets on board with this?

My guess is with the passion of the fanbase, this would bring in thousands of dollars for the general scholarship fund and keep Hokie Nation happy. I know I'd probably attend this (as well as most of TKP).

Thoughts?

UPDATE: Whit got back to me (or at least someone in his office)

Neat concept. We did this at Missouri too. NCAA rules are a little tight on what you can and can't do...but, if Oregon can do it we should be able to. Will look into. Thanks for your note and encouraging words. I am proud to be a member of the Hokie Nation along with you! Thanks again. - Whit
