2018 Spring Practice 3 (Shoulder Pads) Social Media Report

1) TJ Jackson was working at right tackle. Freshman Eli Adams beat him on an inside spin and wipe move.

2) A middle drill clip is shown and the top OL group appeared to be Nijman-Plantin-Chung-Pfaff-Smith. Keene was the H and Hooker (top 3 QBs are rotating) at QB.

3) I thought that Trevon Hill was missing spring practice, but it sure looked like 94 was out there. Nijman turned the mystery DE wearing 94 out leaving a huge hole for McClease off the left side. Jackson is QB with the 1s on this rep.

4) Hooker is in with the 2s and hits Wheatley in the left flat. I couldn't catch all the 2 OL. Jackson was at RT and Hoyt was at center.

McClease looks really quick in that clip. Like it, I do.

For those of us not savy to the social medias, thanks for the updates. Brief but glad we oldies dont have to miss out. Plus its great getting your opinion sprinkled in!

Sorry they are so brief. VT isnposting significantly less than in the past.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

I would just like to say how much I hate the new snapchat. This must be how it feels to start losing touch with popular tech but holy shit the UI is garbage and it's way to difficult to find stories from people you actually know.

Recruit Prosim

I'm pretty sure they post the same clips to Instagram and that's easier to navigate

Which account on Instagram?

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

hokies instgram link

hokiesFB is the insta account name that post the short snippets of practice (same as the stuff on the snap) the post it to the stories so it wont be on their actual page but up at the top on the stories section so youll have to scroll till you see it. like below....

Tech may be the youngest team in College Football

Seriously. It didn't hit me until I just recently glanced at the spring roster. Wow we are young. We really lost a lot to graduation/NFL draft this year on defense (top DT, both starting linebackers, top two corners, and starting FS). Plus our top WR, two multi-year starters on the OL, and an experienced RB in McMillian. The good news is I think 2019/2020 and beyond could be very fun (concerned about DT looking ahead though), but I'm really trying to temper my expectations for this year. Could be significant growing pains on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, but that metrics put Josh Jackson and Sean Savoy as more important than a a redshirt Junior that has been sitting for years behind someone who just graduated, since they contributed last year. Even though Sean and Josh played last year they are still really young.

Don't you think that makes sense? 'Experience' shouldn't be measured by age, it should be measured by how many college snaps a player has taken.

You're the only ones that I can talk to about this, you guys.

On the Eli Adams play, I also saw what looked like a #98 lined up to his right. If Porcher has made the move to DT, that is a huge positive development for this team.

I honestly never though Porcher would play any snaps at DE. In my mind he has always been a DT because of his size.

I thought the same thing - I saw 98 on that jersey. Guess we will see for sure shortly!

Man, these social media snippets are tough sledding. It's like placing 10 pieces of a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle on the table and having people guess what the image is.

Thanks for culling as much out of it as you can, French. You're doing the film review equivalent of panning for gold...

That is the idea. I make no secret that any op-ed beyond what you can see is just my educated best guess.
