He was definitely on the field. Maybe he was just out there cheering on his teammates following some ST plays. Not sure, but he was jogging to the side line a time or two.
theoretically the #25 is awarded for ST performance during practice, but in practice it seems to include great ST performance in games as well.

I am pumped about the Dean! After recovering not one but two onside kicks and saving the victory against Loserville, everyone was saying Mitchell earned the #25. The kickoff game is special teams, right? So maybe this #25 recognition is for outstanding performance some other way? Or has Mitchell already been #25 too much?
It goes to a "special teams player of the week" which I have always interpreted as the week of practice leading up to the current game. Others seem to have the impression that it is based on performance in the previous game.
IIRC the last time Mitchell wore the 25 was against Pitt in '19.
I'm happy for Mean Dean though. He'll probably go Waterboy on someone's ass vs Liberty.

gonna be ppl clamoring for James Mitchell after the onside kick recoveries, but good to remember that the 25 is rewarded to the guy who practices the best on special teams, not just performs the best in-game the week before
