Gonzaga beat LOLUVA 98-75 today. If you needed a guide on how to deconstruct the Wahoos then the Zags gave Coach Mike Young and staff a free class today. The Zags had only two players in double figures but they combined for 61 points. The last time two teammates did that to UVA was 30 years ago. The last time UVA gave up more then 90 points was Feb 2012 against UNCheat. The last time they gave up more then 98 was Nov 2010 in the second year of Tony Bennett's tenure.
Gonzaga forced Sam Hauser into 3-11 shooting. UVA as a whole shot the ball well,, going 48% from the field and 40% from outside. The Zags though proceeded to dissect UVA in the lane, scoring 48 points in the paint and another 18 at the line. Kispert murdered them from outside anytime UVA collapsed to the center, going 9-13 from outside. The Zags only had 7 turnovers to 15 from the Wahoos.
The big takeaway for the Hokies is how challenged UVA was in the inside out game, making a great pattern to follow with Aluma and Cone.
Always fun to watch UVA get beat soundly but More in 2020.

I was praying for 100 so I could've truly enjoyed it seeing that defense get hosed for 100 but oh well. It was beautiful
Gonzaga is the best team in CBB this year. They are an absolute machine on offense. Love our guys but I think we will have a far harder time emulating that game plan.
I agree it will be much harder but the concepts and game plan are there even if we don't execute as well as Gonzaga
Exactly, we can be 78% as efficient on offense and still win by 1 /s
UVa also hasn't looked like the defensive juggernaut they're used to being, so hopefully we don't need to to still win.
Let's make it "JUST LIKE FOOTBALL!" when we play them hoos.
Hokies are going to have to take care of the ball a whole lot better than they have been if they want to follow the same playbook.
