USA beats Canada 2-0 for World Junior Hockey Champioship. It was a clinic and bodes well for future US teams internationally.

US looked like the MUCH better team all game. Zegras' hands are just filthy and Knight stood on his head. The first goal I think really got Canada off their game considering they hadn't trailed all tournament as was being hammered home by the TSN broadcast that I watched for the first part of the game.
Either way, the good guys won. LET'S GOO!
Super excited to see 2 from the Rangers pipeline on Team USA. Brett Berard was a forechecking monster, and Hunter Skinner...was on the team and has a fun name.
Also excited that (even though they came up short) Braden Schneider and Dylan Garand were a part of the team Canada team that dominated much of the tournament.
Rangers could use Berard soon. They don't have a buzzing forechecker on the current roster. I didn't get to see the game last night, but Schneider got flagged for a headshot early in the tournament and then turned around with heavy play and some offensive contributions.
They desperately need Kakko to be the player he was at the World Championships in 2019. The Rangers have not had a home grown superstar forward since Ratelle and Gilbert. If they can be stars, the pair plus the Czar, Miller, Lundkvist, Fox, Lindgren, Jones, Schneider is one hell of a foundation. I really wish they could figure out how to package DeAngelo to get a legitimate center to play with Panarin.
Hopefully Kakko was suffering from some chunks of fatigue last year after all the hockey he played. It sounds like he's been playing well from a few reports in camp and was noticeably improved at the bubble by all accounts. If Laf gets going, and Kakko gets going, in a couple years get a guy like Berard who could end up playing that Callahan style...we could end up being two happy hockey fans.
Also was super thrilled that Laf was not playing in the tournament because of what happened with Dach, but also so I didn't have to root against him the first time I see him as a member of the Rangers org.
Huge performance from Spencer Knight too. He looked a little shaky against Russia on Christmas, but he was a wall last night
Zegras will be special.
And the tournament was in Canada for the ultimate dagger...
