Team is pumping out more videos recently. Interviews with Fuente and new players. The DC and OC will be made available for media this week also.

Appreciate you posting this. But the team better put out content like this all year for it to even move the needle for me
I mean, let's not shoot it down before they even have a chance to fail. I will choose to be optimistic about this new content push until proven otherwise. I hope fan engagement starts to increase with this new Hokie Alum core staff. I know Fuente isn't much of an on camera, extrovert, media access type but that doesn't mean the tide can't shift. *insert Michael Scott I'm ready to get hurt again gif*
You absolutely make a great point. Maybe I'm hesitant because I feel like there's been these "new starts" or we've "rounded a corner" with football team media realtions, only to be continually let down. π»
I think a big indicator will be if we continue to see the other coaches get chances to engage the media. I think recently they have seen how the fans have reacted to hearing from the other coaches so if they choose to ignore that I will be disappointed for sure
So far I've only seen Hilgart, Jack Tyler and Fuente along with new player videos so we shall see if it keeps rolling to others as well.
RIP Fuente Friday
We hardly knew ye
You're right. They cant just put out a few videos and say see, I did my part. It has to be a year long change to their approach. With that said, I hope fans can enjoy whatever content they do get instead of flipping it to another rant on the state of the program.
this is a good start. Keep it up coach. And, for goodness sake, win some damn ball games!
Hope Cornelson doesn't do the Stiney double and even triple speak method of confusing the shit out of everyone and making no sense...but I'm not holding my breath
Not related to the OP, but it seems like the staff is trying to make a push to make the supporters feel more connected. I got a Fuente signed card from VT Football for my donation to the Hokie Club. I hope they keep trying to get the fans "involved" and feeling like they are important to the program.
Exactly! We need long term shifts in engagement with the fans. Lots of small things add up over time and will keep people feeling engaged and invested
I mean, they're trying which is better than before. This is good content, at least Fuente + Co. are trending upward today.
Why Bill Parcells on this audio
Came here to ask this same question. The only logical conclusion I was able to reach was that Fuente's personality is like an Oklahoma version of the Big Tuna's personality. Distant, aloof, hates the media, etc. Who knows?
Cause they would have been roasted if they used a fictitious "pep" talk like...Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday! hahaha
That speech gets the blood flowing, though!
Al Pacino ain't played nobody Paaawwwwwwlllll.
I swear, every f*kin video. Dude's mic just went out in the middle of the recording or what? This cheap level BS a high schooler could produce.
I didn't downvote you but isn't this nitpicking?
In general, yes it is. But this is my profession, and when I see shit quality coming from my program that I frankly don't see anywhere else, it pisses me off.
It's kind of like an engineer watching someone getting paid millions to build something that looks like Derring Hall.
Long day, huh?
Still better than the acc network production quality.
See to me, if they haven't figured it out by now, I have to assume they are doing it on purpose. For me, it comes across as raw and unscripted. If that is what they are going for, I think they hit the mark.
Good stuff by Coach Prioleau...
