The Virginia Tech women's basketball team landed a huge talent out of the transfer portal. Junior guard Kayana Traylor is a Hokie.

A 5-star recruit out of Martinsville (IN) High School, and ranked #41 nationally in the class of 2018 per ESPN, Traylor is a tremendous loss for Purdue where she tallied 15 ppg, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists last season. She has 2 years' eligibility remaining. Purdue's loss, however, is Virginia Tech's gain as Traylor bolsters an already strong roster. With Aisha Sheppard's decision to return for another season, the Hokies return all of their starting 5 from a team that finished 7th in the ACC, earned a 7-seed in the NCAA Tournament, and notched their first Tournament win since their last appearance in 2006.
