Is Kadum better than Tajh at this point? If so, that is a very concerning reflection. If Bullock is better and Fu didn't play him, that is also very concerning. It seems Fu plays the game scared, and plays not to lose. Kadum is not a P5 QB, and not having a real back-up QB is a stark indictment of Fu's program.

We kept Fu with no changes to his staff last year.
Because everyone bought into the covid excuse last year
1) We got admitted to the ACC and the academic side won the power struggle with athletics. VT football got complacent. Akin to "Mission Accomplished"
2) Beamer stayed on far too long. Wish we would have won a BCS bowl or two more so he could have hung it up after 2011.
3) We hire an AD who is great at Olympic sports and overall management, but who doesn't really have much expertise in football. His objective when Beamer retires is to hire someone who reminds everyone of Beamer. We got someone with all the worst traits.
4) Total neglect with development of the Hokie Club and lack of understanding until it's far too late of the importance of fundraising and facilities
5) On a micro-level, Whit putting all his eggs into Fu and not wanting to force his hand/admit he screwed up badly.
Hopefully for TCU fans, this means they won't have to deal with Fu as their new HC. Unfortunately for us, back up the Brinks truck for this buyout. No one with a pulse will hire him right now.

People run into players, coaches and refs on the sideline all the time and 99% of the time they don't push out with their arms like that. OK, there's some plausible deniability on the QB push, but it was too much. He was so close to being out of bounds that a much lighter push would have been enough. Didn't have to put him in the 10th row of the stands.
Dax needs some situational awareness. There may be some plausible deniability about the QB push, but the push on the coach could potentially have gotten him ejected. It's undisciplined play, and he needs to just stop. It's not a good look. Channel that passion into making plays.
I get the frustration towards a QB that's making your defense look silly, but the fix is don't leave him giant holes.

I'm usually not into the comments in game and/or the get rid of the coaches because of moments of frustration, but tonight typifies how the leadership mentality of this coaching staff on offense is broken. Examples abound - for tonight include
QB power on 3rd down with Knox in game early - not playing to what the kid can do and not do.
Taking 30 seconds to get a play call in down 2 scores and then running a basic read option - multiple times.
Punting on 4th and 6 or so down 2 scores.
If you manage risk too hard you eliminate possible rewards. Or in the case of VT football, you might not give up 50 points, but you won't take enough chances to win a game unless it's given to you. In other words we never win the game by making a winning play because we won't call a play that wins the game on offense.

The two things that really got to me were these. 1) punting on a fourth and 4 down two scores with 430 or so left really really made me....eh I'll hold my tongue. 2) was taj bullock dressed? If not then this doesn't matter...but if he was and red shirts aren't burned anymore until four games then why in the absolute HELL did he not get a shot!!?! 2) Brad Cornelson is his QB Coach
Cornelson is (as unbelievable as this is) a worse QB Coach than he is a Coordinator. Literally not a single QB that has been here since 2016 has shown measurable improvement or development under his watch.
Kadum is 2 years into the Program, looks extremely uncomfortable and stares his Receivers down on nearly every throw. 2 years of "coaching" from Brad and he hasn't managed to iron out the minutiae of not letting the DB read your eyes for an easy INT yet. Do we really think that Bullock will be better at this point?
The problem here isn't the QB, the problem is this entire offensive system is Garbage and run by a Coordinator who is utterly inept and incompetent.
Let Tahj sit, rather than get hurt being used as Brad's Battering Ram and see what the next Staff can do with him.
There is no doubt Bullock is better. He has been been on the program for a shorter period of time.
