I mean it's laughable at this point. By SEC standards Fuente would have gotten fired in year 3 (the year we lost to ODU, ECU cancelled on us and so we had to hire Marshall to beat up on for bowl eligibility). Not that I necessarily think it would have made sense at the time, just that a lot of places would.

That, I think, was some comedy to highlight the ridiculous $20M buyout that Frost has at Nebraska. I doubt they are plugged into the financial situation at VT.
However, I agree that we should be able to make something happen.

Yeah... will be very interesting when, once Fuente is gone, the stories folks have been holding on to start to trickle out. Hoo-boy. Hold on to yer' butts.

To be fair to Fu, a lot of the former players are reveling in this program demise because they think it qualifies their narrative. The only narrative that's been proven is the offensive ineptitude, which so many others can very easily see.
Fuente did make a change within the locker room after 2018, but not on the field, and the results speak for themselves. You go in that locker room in September 2018 and you walk into it in September 2021, and it is night and day. A shame for these kids, cause they are truly battling without a coaching leader. Fuente thought the issues were a player problem, and to a degree it was. Turns out it was coaching all along.

Couple years ago Kirk herbstreit, Chris Fowler, and the bear were doing these unofficial post GameDay wrap ups (usually from whatever vehicle they were traveling in) and they were usually a little liquored up.
In one of the videos they got on to the subject of the state of our program and Kirk basically says "they're so bad.." It wasn't meant out of disrespect or anything, and he goes on to state how much respect he has and all that.

I remember that one. They were basically all like, "We are here for you VT, we want you to be good again so bad!" Kirk definitely looked/sounded like he was feeling good, lol.

Nice - a good laugh on Monday morning. Thanks for posting.
The VT representation in this clip appears to be quite motivated to shake things up and make moves.... Can we bring in aboard in some capacity??

SEC money can afford to laugh at ACC money.
Maybe they should share some.
Hilarious
Lol, this hits way too close
We made it boys
Damn that's harsh. Since they mentioned Napier, does that mean it's not gonna' happen?
Also note: "We can afford our buyout."

Maybe they watched Whit's press conference last year where he literally said we can afford the buyout.
they said we can afford the buyout
SEC Shorts is usually on point and this week proved to be no exception.
Those folks do a quality job.
FB ranked in top 3! Woohooo!
Hehehehehe. That was hilarious.
I know the closing was pre-recorded, but having Herbstreit smiling at the end gives it a final umph.
This. How embarrassing (and true) was this video on the group's off camera true feelings?
In a sense, it wasn't really off-camera, since this is video they posted online.
What's bad is that that was a couple of years ago.
What's bad is that things have only gotten worse...

i agree completely that the team is playing hard and I'll support them because of it. They deserve better coaching.
I feel OOL...

It was after the 2019 Duke game. Here's the discussion on it but the embed from Twitter no longer works and I haven't been able to find the video:

Gameday discussing Fuente and VT on College Gameday the following weekend:

HAHA... that was good.
Ending was only made better by Nebraska and Frost announcing they've restructured his contract
