I'm going to hesitantly float this because today is bad enough. But just a warning. Pep Hamilton is expected to interview with Vanderbilt today. If he were to accept the position he would need a WR coach. Pep Hamilton's recommendation is the reason Aaron Moorehead is in Blacksburg.. So take that for what it is.

I don't think BWade was being overly excited about this. He just made an observation. One that I hadn't known yet. I think it's a valid point that Moorehead may be attracted to go work with Pep again. But not one we need to be worried about until A) Pep takes the job and B) Pep needs a WR coach.
That's a really heavy pill... It must be huge! How am I supposed to take it to chill?!
You lay it on your chest and it makes you stop breathing, leading you to unconsciousness quickly, where you can be maintained in a coma until the coaching staff is stable.
It's a suppository
As soon as I saw the video box I knew it was going to be this. Classic.
If it happens it happens. I have full confidence in Frank to make the next decision if that were to happen. After all, he hired the guys we are currently stressing over losing
He also hired the guys they replaced and continued employing those guys for far too long. Which case was the exception and which the rule?
FWIW, I'm not really stressing over losing these guys. I knew they would be gone eventually if they did well. I'm stressing over losing them after a single season.
I will never complain about loyalty. Did he wait too long to make a change? Yes. But I'm not going to complain because my favorite coach is too loyal. In the grand scheme of things the past is in the past. His most recent hire was really strong.
In other news, I like you Duffman. You argue with everything I say no matter what it is. Being agreed with is boring.
If it's any consolation I don't know you from Adam and don't target you not anything. I just read the posts and agree or disagree with the content therein. It's just a coincidence that we disagree on everything :)
Except the Nats, I'm a Nats fan too - see, we do agree on something!
Everyone needs an internet nemesis. :) In all seriousness if everyone agreed this place would be boring. I appreciate your well thought out counterpoints.
Hug it out fuckers.
This isn't directed at you, Duffman, but this was a convenient place to put this response...
Listen, folks, loyalty is good. You should be as loyal to your people as they are to you, and Frank is the first one to extend that opportunity. We all know that Frank has been loyal to a fault, but he has made changes. The fact of the matter is that he kept bad coaches around for too long because of loyalty. But I think the reason they stayed around so long was because they weren't good enough to be hired away. I would think that, if I were in Frank's shoes, I'd want to keep all my guys if they were being recruited away by other staffs (see: Bud, Grimes). But if they aren't being recruited away, how good are they?
The reality is that we didn't make the best hires in the past. They stayed because it was their best option and we didn't have the cash to pony up for someone else.
All of this, plus I would add that despite having what we know to be an inferior coaching staff on offense, the team was still winning 10 a season and championships. Almost any program in the nation would kill for that. It takes some serious balls to clean the slate in the midst of that run.
Loyalty got us those ten win seasons and ACCCG wins. Kept the bowl streak alive. Loyalty also got us to 2012 where the wheels came off, but when it did Beamer cleaned house and restocked. This is exactly how it should have happened from a business stand point. From a fan stand point it's different. We all want our favorite offense whatever it may be but the point of the "fire stinespring" fervor was essentially that we wanted it to be more productive, that's all.
I personally wished for a new OC as well, but I understand Beamer's perspective and don't fault him for it.
Are we STILL on this!? As far as I'm concerned it's pretty much case closed. Stiney is no longer OC, somebody better and more efficient (Loeffler) is. Dead issue.
Very good point.
Frank Beamer has never had a staff that was worth going after. He's never had to deal with this before. I hope he can manage this at this point in his career....
When did they construct a turnstyle in Blacksburg?
Let's hope it stops at ONE...
TEAM!
NOOOO! I'm a Colts fan - this is not good.

Perhaps the news will be good:
If it gets Chad Morris out of Clemson, I'll be happy.
Yes...that's what I meant by potentially good news.
Edit...nevermind:

That is simply amazing and i am a dog person.
I thought the same thing-
I dont like cats but this one gets a pass.
He's cool.
Can't stop watching...
That cat has incredible concentration all the way to contact.
I keep hearing my tee ball coach saying: "keep your eye on the ball"
You are an evil, evil being for posting that gif.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.
Wow, a thousand camels? Sweet!
(was originally looking for a little kid swinging and missing a tee ball, but couldn't not post it once I saw it)
If it's Chad Morris than RIP Clemson offense.
I really want to see how Dabo does -Morris, -Boyd, -Watkins, etc.
Doesn't look like we will get to find out. I wish it had been Morris, but Mason makes sense. Defensive mind from an academic focused university. He'll fit in well at Vandy. Had Morris gone, it would be Vandy trying to imitate the success of Auburn and Mizzou from this past year with the up tempo high powered offense mentality.
Crap. Mason is a Stanford guy too, seriously doubt he would steal Moorehead away from Tech, but you never know.
Lots of reports that Vandy wants to build a "Stanford-South." Hopefully that doesn't include pillaging our coaching staff or raiding Loudon County.
love the profile pic
I work in a very "international" office (World Cup gets way more attention than March Madness or any other sport). I walked around with my IniTech mug going, "Heeeey....what's happening?" and no one got the joke. It was really disappointing.
'What the hell is wrong with you people!!!!'
Meeting with the Bobs...
Coaching Search reported that Pep Hamilton has withdrawn from Vandy consideration.
That's because he's coming to Blacksburg to be our new OL Coach!! Boom!
That is excellent news. Dont know how the future will look but I would not be surprised to see Pep's name come up for the beginning of the Post Beamer Hokies. (Yes I want Bud. No I don't think it will happen.)
You really think so? Man... I really don't want to eat that t-shirt...
I don't know that Bud has the personality to carry off being head coach as much as he has earned the right.
Oh. He has it.
Might not be all praise and "They'll get after you". But the fans love him and that is enough. If Dabo can be a head coach, then Foster can be a head coach.
The big question for a head coach is will the parents love him...
Good point...never thought about it from the Dabo precedent.
Yeah, but Dabo comes across as a good natured goober, Bud might accidentally rip the kids head off or something.
Dabo is a proven recruiter, Bud not so much. That's a big difference.
Resuscitate!
Personally I would love Bud as head coach and Torrian as DC. But I just doubt it will go down that way. Alternatively I think that Torrian would be a great head coach somewhere but he would have to leave VT to make that happen and that would make me sad.
Best Case Scenario: Moorehead stays, gets a raise in the process
Worse Case Scenario: Moorehead leaves, Danny Coale becomes our WR coach
I don't see a problem here.
Danny Coale can't be our WR coach. He's been picked up by the Steelers.

Best case scenario:

Chad Morris replaces a retiring Beamer in 2 years and retains Bud Foster.
I see this as a real possibility
