Not yet. As of this afternoon he's still on staff.

He (and all the other assistants) are currently retained through the end of the season. Whit has said the future coach will get full autonomy in coordinator decisions, so it is reasonable to expect he will be gone post UVA/bowl game.

No he is still the OC. Whit all but said that in the presser yesterday when referring to leaving the coordinators in place to give the kids the best chance to succeed. (Reference to one of the reasons Price was named interim.)

all the assistants are carrying on through the season

and with Fuente gone, that means Cornelsen has complete control of the offense...

Who knows, maybe Corn is a gunslinger OC and Fuente held him back with wanting him to be conservative? It will be a show regardless

This explains a lot, if true

Definitely explains some of the decision making on the read option at least. How many times have we seen it where it looks like a read option, the extremely obvious read is a keep, but the QB hands it off anyways?

He would tell the quarterback whether he should hand it off or run.

When, via playcall? What's the point of the read option, then?

That's why Corny's offense is so offensive

That is one hell of an article. Niziolek did his due diligence on this one.

I think this little excerpt needs a whole lot more attention, Fu must realize Corn is one of the leading factors that he lost the job, right? How is this clown a Div 1 coach?

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Source says "Justin had multiple chances to make changes and to save his job and didn't...." Wish this "source" could have elaborated, but I guess we know what is meant.

Much like actual corn, it's safe to assume he's sticking around. Usually when things get shitty, you look down and Corn's right there in the middle of it.

LMAO. This is the content that makes TKP great.

.

A little surprised that given how close he and Fuente are reportedly that Corn didn't resign as well.

Will be interesting to see what the O looks like this week vs. Miami.....I, for one, am not particularly optimistic.

The line has moved slightly to VT +8 (believe it was +7 to open).

Corn didn't have the golden parachute

Yup. Corn would forfeit the remainder of his salary on his Letter of Appointement which runs through June of next year

A best buddy who just got $8.75/Mil can't float a guy $460/k???

So if you're Corn, do you throw caution to the wind and try to come up with a spectacular game plan, and get the offense in a great position to win, or do you sabotage everything out of spite and guarantee a loss?

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

I would hope that as a professional, he'd do the former not the latter. However, it would be kind of hard to tell what is what with his history of playcalling.

Sabotage seems a little odd for a guy coaching for his next job.

I see no upside to this kind of sabotage plan. Bad for reputation, bad for impressing future teams, bad for current colleagues, bad for the players you've been working with. Maybe if he's a chaotic evil kind of person, but otherwise it makes little sense.

I do art stuff.

I'd call the next 2 games like they are job interviews, because that's exactly what they are. There are no guarantees that he lands wherever Fuente does, so he has to show potential employers what he can do on his own.

I'm here for the memes, I just stay for the football.

I heard that we are doing something similar to what we did with Bud. The next head coach has to keep Cornelson or it's a no-go. /s

Corn totally running the show now. Watch out, this offense is about to πŸš€ πŸš€!!

Isn't it normal for the coordinators to stay on staff in this situation? I get people don't like Corn, but somebody has to call the offense until the new HC comes in to decide who he wants to hire.
