See, someone should have asked him who he thought would be next year's starting 5 and we would have known this was coming. Go get em Justyn! Dude should get a shot somewhere, NBA had moved toward a more open style of play that benefits his game.

FYI, June 1st is the date players have to withdraw from the Draft and still maintain college eligibility
If both he and Aluma, wait that long before announcing if they are coming back, that could greatly affect our chances at transfers. Or if you take some and they come back, might have to have those tough and awkward "the numbers always work out" convos with some people elsewhere on the roster.

Definitely reminds me of Draymond Green. He's a great passer for his size, has to be respected shooting outside, can guard multiple positions, and loves the game. I certainly think that while he won't be a star; there is a role for him in the NBA.

I'm thinking this puts the odds at at least 50/50 that he's on the roster for VT next year. I don't follow the NBA too closely, but it seems they prefer younger, blue-chip guys even if they're a little raw, so I'm not sure what the market would be for a guy like Mutts. Would be happy to be wrong, but that's just my uneducated take.
I guess the other side of this is would he want to do another year of college if the draft feedback he gets isn't great? I think this would be his 6th year, he's got multiple masters degrees. It could just be time for a change.

I hope it works out well for him and that he gets some solid advice and feedback. Unfortunately I don't see him getting drafted currently...he has flashes of greatness in some games but completely disappears in others. If he can come back for one more year and get around 15 ppg and develop a consistent outside shot (something he will need in the NBA at his size), then I think he's got a good chance.

I think if he can improve his dribble (make him walk around campus dribbling the ball) and a little bit better outside shooting he would definitely be a potential in the NBA. Right now, I can't see him sticking with a squad long term.

There was significant belief that we would get one or the other back, not both. DNG's decision to enter the portal was playing time related and with Mutts coming back, that cuts into that.

This really changes the outlook for the season, in a good way.
Best guess is that we'll start Pedulla-Maddox-Cattoor-Mutts-Basile with the top contributors off the bench being Rice at guard, Camden on the wing, and whoever is best out of Poteat/Kidd/Wessler as the backup big.
