Tennessee takes a 2 score lead. Fuentes an idiot.

Penn State was in it till they weren't, I mean damn.

Yeah based on my checking on ESPN: that escalated quickly (um/psu)

I'm still figuring this out.

Boy. That Hendon Hooker guy looks like the winner here so far in that matchup of Heisman Candidates. 🤷

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'll become a Tennessee fan the rest of the season.

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

I'm thinkingi gotta make it to a game there this season...

It's a vastly different world when you turn off whatever ACC game you're watching to watch anything from the SEC or BIG and certain things from the PAC12.

Is coronavirus over yet?

some of it is the production value of cbs versus espn but if its not vt i am typically watching good teams because they are good

Danny is always open

My weekly experience since marrying an SEC grad. But UGA/Vandy such a blowout already it's time to see if UT can make more chaos this week. Watching Hooker is always a mixed feeling though.

Same. We were watching the UGA while I'm listening to my wife talking about how it is nice to watch good football.

I got to see the QB for Vandy last year in HS.

Remember when Tennessee was an absolute dumpster fire of a program...

Goes to show that we can overcome our current state. Just have patience

And everyone donate $100 to the VT NIL clearing house.....

Did I miss the announcement that Heupel and his staff have been hired in Blacksburg? 😉 Seriously though - that's the difference.

I hope Coach Pry gets VT back to relevance. But it's only hope for me right now. We're nowhere close to the offensive system Heupel has installed on rocky top.

To be fair, I don't think we have an offensive system...unless you mean runs up the middle and running pass routes short of the first down marker.

Did you see the reaction of Vols fans and some media when that hire was announced? They were underwhelmed at best not happy at all for many.

Proud Hokie since 2004.

wow the acceleration by Gibbs, definitely a 95+ rating on ncaa14

oof RIP Heisman odds for Hendon?

Didn't watch a lot of Bryce Young last year but watching him tonight he is very very good

edit: maybe I spoke too soon...

No, no it's not.
Yes, yes he is
Edit: Yes, yes you did

I'm still figuring this out.

wow 5 tds for that receiver, Hendon looks good

I just realized that receiver has a name, one time Hokie commit Jalin Hyatt......sigh

Didn't realize Hyatt had been a Hokie commit. Wow.

Jesus Christ, I had no idea.

HENDON!!!!!

Dang. This Hendon kid can ball. We should have recruited him

Hyatt too...

ohhh he was committed to us at one point right?

Ooof Bama has 16 penalties so far. They should do something about that poor coaching. /s

I would give my left nut to be in the position that Tennessee is in right now.

why didn't Tennessee use a TO or two?

ok I guess thats why

more time for Hendon TDs

those 2 deep passes on the final drive were so clutch

Apparently defense was optional in Knoxville today. Hendon led the game winning drive. Yay Hendon. Boo Tennessee.

Man screw Tennessee, but that was fun.

Edit: and a little painful.

This is modern college football folks. You need a creative offensive mind to win games.

EDIT: Notice what Dino Babers did up in Syracuse. He hired Robert Anae, who I thought was a genius at UVA.

Is coronavirus over yet?

I didn't think he was a genius until I saw his work this year, Armstrong is having a terrible season.

Haha... I hear you. Honestly, I saw it all along. they have next to no talent on offense (even their WRs looked like Sunday stars last season) and Anae, the most hated man on the staff by all my UVA fan friends & family, was the genius architect.

Hendon is a certified streakbuster

..... :(

/s

Good for Hendon, highly doubt he would've had half as much success if he'd stayed with the good guys.

Once again the previous staff can chortle my nuts thinking BB was a better decision than Hook. Hooker prolly wouldn't be nearly as good here but just shows what happens when you give the kids options

They also thought Ryan Willis was better.

A Dawg shares my house, but I'm team chaos. I got my Rockytop wish (sorry Bama relatives). Sorry Coach Saban, but kickers are football players.

The SEC East just go more interesting.

Happy for HH too. For 3 more weeks ;)

Tennessee blasting Dixieland Delight might be the greatest, pettiest thing I've ever seen

I got my MBA at UT in Knoxville - was there for Peyton's last season and the national championship season that followed. I was on that field in 1998 following the epic win over Florida and carried a goal post out of the stadium, down the strip and into a bar. I was the only sober one in the crowd, I'm pretty sure. Fun night.

Happy for Hendon and equally sad for where the VT program is at this moment. The only positive is to see how UT has risen from the ashes. Hope VT can do the same.

Well JMU shit the bed as fast as they could

Funny how we didn't think Fuente had accomplished anything, but look how much he's done for the Vols! Hooker and Hyatt combined for 5 tds!!!

Looking at where Duke is in year one, compared to where we are, it looks like we hired the third or fourth best coaching staff of the four Coastal teams that have new head coaches this year.... Yikes.

Well atleast Army won, ND lost to hapless Stanford, bama lost, FSU lost, and maybe UNC might lose as well as JMU lost. It's that time where I really don't care but cheer for complete chaos.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

And don't forget penn state and USC lost as well. Looks like Lincoln Riley brought the same defence to USC from Oklahoma

Watching this Duke - UNC game and it's depressing honestly... Duke offense is creative and has a lot of movement to it in order, I suspect, to get players into a favorable position to make a play. Beyond that, the players are actually making plays. I have no idea what is going on with VT football, but every single thing is broken. We can blame Fuente all we want, and he certainly deserves a ton of it, but damn... coach Pry needs to get better as well.

Is coronavirus over yet?

Yep. It's crazy to watch. I think it goes to show how big a difference hiring coordinators with 10+ years of experience can make. This is a team that has lost 13 ACC games in a row including a loss to Fuente's worst team by 31.... and they already look light years ahead of us. It's frustrating to say the least.

My goodness was that Tennessee Alabama game amazing

VT terrible, Iowa State losing all the close games, seeing that Hooker lit it up again for another team. Ugh.

Thankfully Penn State got blown out in the end.

Oh, and somehow Yale managed to lose the turnover battle 0-5 against Bucknell and still won. What?!?! Link below.

Let's talk penalties

Alabama and Tennessee are both bottom 10% of committing penalties for the season.

The ACC (9) is almost a fourth of the bottom 40 teams in number of committed penalties per game. The next closest conference is the SEC with 4 teams.

Wake(12th) is the only top 25 team in not committing penalties. BC (31st) and Duke (54th) are the only other teams in the top half of college football.

When looking at penalty yards UVA steals the mantle, from Syracuse, as worst in the ACC

12 ACC teams are in the bottom 55 for penalty yards per game, this includes Duke. So I guess they go big or go home. BC is top 25 and Wake top 30, everyone else sucks.

When comparing those 12 teams, no other conference has more than 4 teams in that span.
