Please forgive me as I don't really pay attention to basketball, but what did Clark do that has so many people ragging on him. Not just for the horrible play, but for some underlying reason. Assuming it is more than he is a Hoo, so rag on him. Was there some special level of douche-bagginess that he has done? Guessing there is a good story I have missed.

From my perspective, he came in as a highly touted 5 star recruit that never quite lived up to his hype. He was a solid player but never a world beater. Additionally, he made an incredible play in the elite 8 against Purdue that basically won UVA the game the year they went on to win the championship. Never lived up to that moment as he career progressed though.
He has kind of been the face, or one of the faces, of UVA basketball for a while now, so he's an easy target too.

We must be remembering different Kihei Clarks, bc he was very much a mid 3-star player and just added fuel to the fire for my UVA friends that were on the "Tony Bennett can't recruit" train in 2017. Far from being a 5-star, they thought it was Tony "settling" for an under-recruited 3-star with only a handful of schools showing interest.

Yep, I agree with this. The "pack line" defense and that "havoc" nonsense at VCU were predicated on the notion that no ref is gonna call all the fouls we're gonna commit, so go for it until they start honing in on you.
But also, can't deny it, I just hate the hell outta them 'hoos.

I don't care for VCU, either; not just cause of my Orange & Maroon school pride.
Unlike the insufferable snobbery from so many Hoos, it's mainly due to their surly hipsters among the Ram student and alumni base. I like The Fan District (that's where my Parents met); dislike those hipsters. At least the Austin, TX hipsters are still friendly.
And I did taunt them after that VCU Final Four run of theirs in 2011, fell short.

His freshman year had one of the ultimate clutch passes in the tourney that kept them alive en route to a title
Tonight doesn't happen if Kihei Clark didn't come up with the best assist of the tournament. pic.twitter.com/tOSACeFraLβ Connor Morrissette (@C_Morrissette) April 9, 2019
Bookended by the absolute atomic turd of a pass at the end of today's game

Have watched every game this year I could get, which was most of them. We aren't bullet proof, but we're damned good and if you've skipped the WBB thing, I'd urge you to tune in. Them wimmin can hoop!!!

I hate the fact that I sat down last night and told my friends UVA would lose to Furman.... but then this morning gave them credit and advanced them the one game to then lose to SDSU.
Should've followed my gut.

Imagine having a wide-open teammate 15 feet away and a timeout and still deciding to yeet the ball down the court wildly and throw it away. I wish I could say I feel bad for Clark, but honestly I just can't lol
Also big props to the Furman player for going for the win and pulling up from deep

LMAO. The only way he could have made a dumber decision is if he would have shot at this own basket. There are so many other options there and he literally does everything wrong. A part of you sorta wants to feel bad for the kid, but not when he's been in college an eternity. That's just straight up stupid and I will gladly laugh at his shame

And to top it all off, ABC, NBC and CBS all featured the boohoo's early exit and gave Furman props on tonight's broadcasts. Definitely takes some of the sting out of last night's disappointment.

Yeah, a title is a title, even if people whine about it years later.
Still, I enjoyed this bit:
It was a sight the Cavaliers are accustomed to, watching the underdog sprinting around the court in joy as their season comes to a quick and inglorious ending. Bennett should thank that 2019 team every day for making the plays that have kept him from being a complete March bust. That's all he's got.

And they still bring up this:
Rollie, I'm sure, has some choice words for all of them.
A ring is a ring is a ring.
Doesn't mean they can't suck in the other years.

Love seeing UVA get dunked on but this is a dumb take imo. I think any one of us would take a bball Natty even if it meant eating three first round exits in other years.

Imagine how much poon this guy would get in the 1300s for being an undefeated jouster. Although, my sleeper pick to win it all at the London World Championships would be "Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein"

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm soooooo glad it was Clark who fucked up!!!!!! LOL
Kihei "hold my zima" Clark? Gotta love it.

Thank you both.

He did shoot that airball that one time, that was great
For me, I hate how his "constantly foul yet somehow get away with it" defense has been allowed for all 75 years of his uva tenure

The only way it would have been more satisfying to me is if somehow it was Billy f'ing Kemp who botched that play.
Every time I see that UVA logo, the only think I can think of is Blue Mountain State (NSFW).
It was all his father left him. RIP.
LOLUVA Chokes!!! FAM!!!!!!!!
Wow, it's even better than I could have ever imagined. Love love love that it was Clark's fault, is he finally out of eligibility?
To his defense, it was still a better pass than the one to the offensive lineman vs. us in 2021.
POTY!!!
Couldn't have happened to a better boohoo.
Probably has two years left. π
His freshman year had one of the ultimate clutch passes in the tourney that kept them alive en route to a title
Bookended by the absolute atomic turd of a pass at the end of today's game
Like coming in as a 5* safety and going undrafted
The Quin Blanding route?
Don't @ him bro...
It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Oh, this makes it even better.
GOOOOOOOD!

If only loluva had been #1 losing to a #16 Furman.....
Between those two games, they closed out that quarter of my bracket.
Makes me feel better about our loss yesterday for sure
Cool beans
Now let's get ready for some Spring Football!
Lady Hokies are playing for a natty. First round starts TODAY!! π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦π¦
Have watched every game this year I could get, which was most of them. We aren't bullet proof, but we're damned good and if you've skipped the WBB thing, I'd urge you to tune in. Them wimmin can hoop!!!
I will laugh even when I wince that just busted my bracket. I had them losing in the second round.
That busted a lot of people's brackets, I wouldn't worry too much.
I actually took Furman in the bracket I took seriously
I took Furman in the bracket, not because I thought they'd win but because I'm petty
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha (gasp, gasp)(deep inhale) hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
I feel so much better about basketball now.
Surprised that nobody has posted one of the best tweets of all time yet
Oof....
Just lovely!
This picture looks like:
A) Something broke his brain
or
B) He is strongly questioning a fart
You pick.....
Damn even the NCAA is dunking on them today
Hate to see it
I understand this meme!
That's brutal...and great work by whoever runs that account
Well, it has become part of the ritual.
One of my faves.
Time to break out my FU hat.

SI already has an article calling 2019 a fluke.

That's brutal. And hilarious.
I'd take a 7-8 post season record for a title. Nothing else matters, Bennett has a title.
Yeah, a title is a title, even if people whine about it years later.

I'll be the salty rival here
UVA shouldn't have sniffed the title game that year, they got bailed out in the E8, F4, and title game. Fucking Kyle Guy
I'm right there with you. The double dribble no call at the end of the Auburn game was one of the worst no calls I've seen in any level of basketball.
A title and almost annual tourney berths. It'd take that any day of the week.
And they still bring up this:

Rollie, I'm sure, has some choice words for all of them.

And suck they can.

We already half half of the equation.
Ducks.
It is definitely "click bait."
I did think it was ironic since we have had some fans question our ACC Championship run the same way.
I bet this guy never fell off his horse.
Not just everyone can pull this off:
Plus, the cav horse has never even SEEN a treadmill.
Seriously, the horse makes that look so effortless.
Regarding the never fallen off his horse remark:
Imagine how much poon this guy would get in the 1300s for being an undefeated jouster. Although, my sleeper pick to win it all at the London World Championships would be "Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein"
