4 star Safety from SC
Auburn, VT, USCe, Michigan, and ... App St?
Would be a strong pull nonetheless
I was puzzled by that too. Guessed he was from that area and they were the local team, but map says it is >200 miles away from where he plays. His mom/dad/girlfriend/whoever going/went there?

Ok yah I'm never ever gonna get a current wwe reference
If you've ever liked rasslin, check out this Bloodline story. I'm not exaggerating when I say its one of the best stories ever.
He's listing offers on his twitter. Offers that he's tweeted about thus far: UMich, UVA, BC, Vandy, UCONN, VT, LSU, Louisville, Cincinnati.
SI says summer admissions issues with ND.
Yeah, I saw similar stuff. May have to go JUCO route.
I am sure those credits count in-state, right, VT Admissions?
Its POOP Again! (He picked Michigan)
CB in for an 86 rated ATH (plays S in HS) out of Highland Springs. Lead recruiter is Fontel Mines of course. Twitter post says he is committed and will be announcing soon. Top 5 included the good guys, Pitt, Penn State, Ole Miss, and USCe
https://247sports.com/Player/Noah-Jenkins-46130850/
Wasn't Pry recently quoted saying he'd be crazy if he didn't take a guy from Highland Springs every year? I guess he's backing that up.
The way Shane is recruiting this would be a great pickup from a solid offer list.
let's get the ball rolling on the 2024 class!
I thought Belfort would've committed already, but now that Bowen is settled as the QB Coach, he's gotta get him in the boat.
Will be a safety at VT!
14th highest rated player for the class of 2025 in the COUNTRY is visiting tomorrow....

6'4 205 WR....and he's a highschool sophomore...what do they feed these kids.

Davi Belfort committing on March 22, Crystal Ball to the good guys
I think if this is the case and factoring in Drones' recruitment I am perfectly happy with Bowen as "QB coach" in title. Get on the same page with the QBs in terms of philosophy and scheme, let the analysts and GAs help with mechanics, go out and recruit high level QB recruits. I think this could be a winning combo, assuming Bowen can make it all come together in the booth on Saturdays. I have a feeling Wells and Wittke were Glenn type of dudes whereas Watson and Drones are Bowen type of dudes. Nothing to back up that last statement except how high on Wells Glenn was pre-season. He didn't say much but then the one strong thing he did say was Wells was the most accurate passer he's ever coached. Didn't age well
I listened the recruiting podcast on TSL and they mentioned guys like Drones, Pop Watson are for the newer system they want to implement. Wells and Witke are more of so for the old system.
However in my opinion Wells did show he could run and Pry said he wishes he could have used Wells for more running plays so I wouldn't cut Wells out of the equation just yet.
I also think there was disconnect with Joe Rudolph and Bowen stated that Crook is flexible
We now know that Bowen is completely in charge of the offense and the QB room so lets see how everything turns out for next year.
Also I hope DAVI picks the good guys
I always interpretted the Wells 'hype' as 'this guy is the best we got' and 'he gives us the best chance to win of anyone on the team' not so much 'this guy is amazing relative to every other QB in the ACC'
And Belfort would be in the same mold as Watson and Drones? His HS tape is way different from those two. And I suggest looking at every QB that Glenn coached before Wells to determine what would be "Glenn type of dudes". You would find that Drones would have been the prototype QB for Glenn.
It's commitment day! How we feeling?
Wrong thread ๐ฅบ
Heard from a friend here in RIchmond who is connected with Trinity HS that Davion Brown was at practice today. He is a rising sophomore, but would immediately become my favorite recruit. Big time talent at wide receiver.
No surprises. VT and the "big dogs."
VT, Maryland, and the big dogs**
VT, Maryland, USCe and the big dogs
while Shane is recruiting pretty good right now I still don't consider them a big dog, they aren't a blue blood
I debated including them as well. Not a blue blood, but on their way it seems.
Nah, they are like us. Even in our hey day of 10 win seasons, a few times being in the conversation at least some point in the year about competing for the national title and an actual appearance we weren't considered a blue blood.
Shane may make them a respectable program with a higher ceiling but they won't become a blue blood.
Maryland hasn't won more than 8 games since 2010 when they won 9. They are NOWHERE near being a blue blood. They need to focus on making bowl games more often than not before you can start thinking of them as even a blue blood. Maryland is only slightly better than Rutgers.
UMD hasn't been a relevant program since the mid-1980s and the days of Bobby Ross, and has also never been a blue blood. I thought blue bloods usually play home games to a capacity audience, and that has generally been anything but the case for the Terps.
I was debating whether to put VT, the home-state school and the big dogs, but UMD has that Big10 money and did just beat Tech by 44 pts in its last bowl.
USCe also questioned, but has that SEC money and has recruited well.
VT is the only one that is way down atm. Making a bowl is a large ask at this time. And I think VT is the underdog in Delane's recruitment, but with a legit chance here. He can be the key piece to bringing VT back to "big dog" status (his brother also being a huge factor in laying the foundation).
UMd beat a bunch of guys who happened to be wearing VT uniforms. That was not remotely the VT football team.
Unfortunately, whoever puts on the uniform is the VT football team. As badly eviscerated as it was by Corn-Fu, that is who VT was. Cautiously optimistic that last year was the bottom, but we will see.
One, it does matter who was actually on the field if the purpose is to compare the relative overall strength of one or both programs. Two, it was a bowl game - and bowl game results are exponentially more meaningless than they were even 5 years ago.
Gotta think whoever has the best wristband endorsement deal has the inside track here
New CB in for 87 rated ATH out of Alexandria, Joshua Clarke
https://247sports.com/Player/Joshua-Clarke-46131471/
Mom was my 3rd grade teacher. Family are huge UNC fans, older brother was a DT at UNC.
Its Gonna be Poop again.
doesn't look like UNC has offered
Yeah, UNC not offering is a little insulting. His parents are very smart, they'll make sure he goes to a school that can actually develop him on the field. They have insider info on the program, and while Josh probably wants to go to UNC, if the coaching staff isn't competent they'll know and he'll go somewhere else.
Hes recently called VT his leader. Loves everything about VT.
So, going to Penn State or Florida State?
Depends if he's 800% committed or not...
Is there such a thing as good poop?
Depends on who steps in it
Looks like we didn't with this commitment!
Depends on how long you have been sitting on it for.
Deuce Walker, a speedy slot receiver out of Salisbury, NC took a visit. It also looks like another Salisbury guy, Jayden "Juke" Harris will be making a decision this week on which basketball team he wants to play for. All these Salisbury guys got great nicknames.
I feel like there is a "it's gonna be poop again no matter what" joke in here somewhere.
At least we got some material to work with.

88 rated edge from MD
Does Anyone know if Davi Belfort's announcement is live?
It said its "live on Instagram". Now whether that means he'll actually have a stream or just put up a post that says "I'm going *insert school* " I don't know

Dang, he had a solid offer list. NCST beat out some big boys there. Lets see if he sticks. Long way to go till signing day.
...and Brian Mitchell is listed as his primary recruiter.
And the signal is up from Evan Watkins, could it be Belfort?
He commits at 8pm so I'd think so

Belfort Committed to the Hokies!!!!
Wooo, first we get Big Poppa Pump's son to commit for basketball and now Vitor Belfort's son for football!
I see we're cornering the "My dad can kick your dad's ass" market
I think we started that club when Alston Smith came to town...

Scott Steiner's Son is playing for us next year?
Yup, 4-star Point guard committed to VT
we're a wrestling school. ?
Got another one.
This one's a Dandy
Anyone have a good sense of where we stand with some of these SWVA kids? First time in a long time we've had some really highly rated guys at multiple schools in that area. The kids from Salem have Bama and Georgia offers and the PH kid has guys like Tennessee, ND, and Penn State. I know we talk a lot about owning that state, and this is literally in our backyard.

Sounds like a decent shot with Toliver, Cole, and maybe Kahoun if he decides to play football. Lewis is Carmelo Taylor v2, late rankings rise and off to PSU/SEC
Cole's recruitment is really accelerating, offers from ND and UGA among others this month, P5 UOVs every weekend it seems per his twitter
Would be a pretty strong statement for Pry and Co to keep him home
The bat signal is up as of 6:25 on Friday...who are we expecting?

Ah, committing on April 1st when the Internet is basically useless for the day. I hope nobody tries to April Fools the kid.
I hate that day. The low bar for what people consider an April Fool's joke just saddens me. And I'm a huge fan of dad jokes!
"And I'm a huge fan of dad jokes!"
There used to be a dad joke thread on this site. Maybe someone will revive it!
(ducks)
Hey, dad jokes are very important in a child's healthy development:

Have you tried stepping over the bar?
From my old neck of the woods, a highschool we played routinely. School puts on out a D1 player every couple of years, but is by no means a local powerhouse.
