Pry-ssr Fall Camp 2023 #3

This was from 8/11, so a lot of these tidbits have already circulated the medias. Here are my takeaways:

  • Feels like we're more efficient and more "squared away" than at this point last year.
  • Wants both QBs to throw more consistently. Thinks they both have had good weeks.
  • Tuten has "a minor deal." Getting quality reps and then backing off to keep him healthy.
  • Team blocking looks better and we're more aggressive on OL. They're keeping the weight up through camp.
  • Wright has a "little strain"
  • Sounds like Stone wasn't making the depth chart and decided to move on. Pry says, "I'm not going to say I'm not a little disappointed. Fortunately we're in a good position there."
  • Turnovers were a huge focus. Added a bunch of new drills to help create turnovers.
  • Wants players not playing it as safe in practice in terms of turnovers. See players going to a tackle when they have a chance at the ball
  • Benji looking good, wants him to be tougher in the trenches. Overall the TE room is more physical this year.
  • Challenging CBs to be better tacklers to avoid big runs.
  • A few things Pry has talked about throughout camp make me feel good about the new sports science and nutrition programs.

I'm pretty anti-visor, but I guess I'll give Pry a pass.

We got him to keep the beard. Maaaybe we might be able to get him a hat. /s

Na, I'm team visor!

All the good ones wear visors. Spurrier. Smart. Okay, those are the only two I can think of. Surely there are more

Onward and upward

I mean why even have hair if you're not gonna show it off.

Fedora, obviously.

What about this guy?

in two pictures you've completely destroyed this theory

All the good ones wear visors.

(add if applicable) /s

No he never said what the bad one wore, he never said only good ones.

"The good ones" and "those who wear visors" is not a perfect overlapping venn diagram. More like The Good Ones is a subset of Visor Wearers.

These seem a little contradictory to me.

As I was typing this I thought the same thing.

Putting words in Pry's mouth I think he's saying he wants the CBs to be better open field tacklers, something that has been a frustration of mine for a while from more than one position group. At the same time he wants the D as a whole to go for the ball when it's unprotected or when there are a few defenders around the play.

Yea he said they have a goal of 3 takeaways for practice that they have only hit maybe once. So I think he is leaning in on I want to be more aggressive and attack the ball as a defense.

Trying to bring back some of this energy.
