Just speculating for the sake of offseason discussion (C'mon spring practice!), but I was looking online for Hokie gear and noticed that both the Campus Emporium and GobblerGear have all of their jerseys deeply discounted. I know I've seen this happen before in years when our uniforms have undergone a redesign. Has anyone seen/heard any rumblings that this might be the case for this fall? Or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

This might just mean that nobody is planning on using #3 this year.
Except numbers 3,4,7,42 and 99 are all on clearance.
interesting that 4 and 7 are big sellers... makes me re-think the idea of players getting paid... huh. I was totatlly against it but this sheds some new light on the idea.
It means they've accidentally converted all the QBs to other positions. J.C. Coleman has switched to #5 and will lead the offense from the Wild Turkey formation.

Could just be trying to clear out some of those jerseys, especially the ones seniors wore (3,42,99) Not sure why the 4 and 7 are too but they may just have a lot of those. They might be waiting to see who is wearing which numbers for next year before they order more? I wouldn't mind new uni's though, I am not a big fan of the ones we have now.
They had a sale last summer too, granted it was because we got rid of the "classic VT" logo so there could be something to there being a redesign, but last summer I got a #4 jersey for nearly 50% off through Gobbler Gear.
I would be in favor of a redesign, I know people like the "throwback" look and want "brand identity" but being completely honest we just look like we're wearing LSU's jerseys in maroon and orange. I'd rather have something more unique to us.
Who likes the throwback look? Other than the maroon jerseys (which are tolerable at best), our uniforms have been bad for the last three years. Not to mention the various uses of orange as a primary color.
I was hoping that the gray uniforms from last year would be the start of a new design.
I like the throwback look over some of the things I've seen other teams wear. I'll also be happy with this look for the next 50 years if it means never having one orange sleeve again.

My absolute favorite uniforms we've had, just imagine if we could have seen a fuller in one of those..
I bought that jersey like a week or 2 before the 06 Gator bowl and tried to pass it off as a Tyrod jersey for years but the sleeve is a dead giveaway that its a MV5 jersey.
At the time I loved the sleeve, but then we got embarrassed by Miami at home on national TV. For the rest of my life, when I see this jersey my knee jerk reaction will be that of pain and disgust.
I think is uniform becomes tolerable through the lens of nostalgia. At the time it was tough to look at.

Love the throwback uniforms as do most, excluding our youngest fans. They are a classic look similar to LSU, Ole Miss, UCLA, Auburn, old Patriots, etc. ...unfortunately we haven't seen them much in the last couple years as we have worn a parade of silly shit week after week. You seldom see the SEC schools wearing that crap...why should we?
We actually see that jersey look almost every single week. The shoulder stripe look is so in original and doesn't say hokies, I don't want a uniform look that looks like someone else

Because that is a sweet piece of merchandise. Nothing says "I'll wear anything if it's got my school's colors and logos on it" like that.

I will admit that I have looked over these websites over and over again over the last year and a half, only to tell you that with the exception of the more expensive version of the uniforms from this year, these sale prices (I'm 90 percent certain), are not new. I got a white LT3 jersey from campus emporium for 45 dollars during the middle of this football season.
