Eff Leonard Hamilton and his "My team can't win the game so we'll foul and throw up treys to extend the game by 30 minutes" game plan.
Initially FSU was really exposing the talent deficiency of our team with how they consistently pressed hard the whole court on our offense. But holy shit did the players and coaches never give up. Kudos to the coaches for throwing wrinkles in our game plan to keep the Semenholes on their toes. Kudos to the players who fought hard for all 40 minutes despite the on-court battery allowed by the zebras.
Big ugly win FAM!

No, eff Hamilton for being smart enough to recruit 10 athletic guys over 6'06 every year and make it a pain in the neck for teams at a school that cares NIL about hoops. I commend him for being a genius to figure out that tall alethic guys help you win in the game of basketball. Mike Young could take a few notes.

Was out cold last night and woke up and checked the box score. About to check out the highlights shortly. Leonard Hamilton is so great at doing the least, with the most athleticism. We should not be beating that team on the boards, especially offensively. Regardless, love the fight from the team after what has been an abysmal stretch. Also, a 'hoo loss makes it even better. FAM

Honestly their starting five are a pretty small lineup. The remaining bigs are tall but awkward and offensively Hamilton had them playing more on the perimeter to create space for iso dribble penetration.
Defensive end they rely too heavily on Watkins.

I like the optimism but that isn't happening. We are 1-6 this year in true road games and we have 4 roadies left this year. There's no "lock" victory in the entire remainder of our schedule (including home games) and we could easily have a 1st round game in the ACCT unless there is a major turnaround in a lot of areas.

VT hoops fans always do this. Always. We lose to 5 shit teams, lose 3-4 straight games, lose to Q3 teams. Us not making the dance is the least surprising thing ever. But VT fans- after we lost last year for literally a month straight were crunching tourney numbers. There are 34 at large spots. 33 really since St. Mary's gets in every year with no quality wins. So 33 spots. At this moment the committee and media have a hard on for the 100% overrated mountain west, thus that shrink the pool more when 3 undeserving MW teams get in. So VT- who loses a ton of shit games annually- is competing against a bunch of teams for not a bunch of spots. The only way this team is dancing is if we win 7 games in 7 nights at the ACC tourney as the 12 seed.

I mean, we've really only lost to one shit team so far this year. We just don't have many good wins. We're not a tourney team without a win over UNC plus going 5/6 in the other games, plus a good win in the tourney. Or, like you say, an ACC tourney win obviously. Weirdly, we've got more Q1 wins (3) right now than Q2 wins (1), which is our problem. The pretty good wins just aren't there consistently either.

True. But we were swept by Miami (shock) and lost to ND. we go 2-1 in those games, the resume looks better. Just frustrating. I am proud that we beat a dogshit BC team- that's epic for VT

Yeah, for sure. 2-1 in those games puts us at 16-8, assuming that one of the two is ND then we don't have that Q3 loss, and we add a Q1 win. That's a whole different world. If we're going nuts, delete the meltdown against FSU the first time, and we're sitting pretty (and 4th in the conference).
We're just a middle of the road ACC team who has had a few bad breaks. Not saying they aren't our own fault, but we're like ten plays across the season from being in a WAY different position. Which is frustrating.

Tech win was great! Tech needs more slashing to the basket like nickel did at about 2 minutes to go. We need to exert pressure by driving to the basket and causing the defense to defend the paint. Our 3 pointers will be more open, and the drive and 1 shot ,along with foul pressure helps to weaken the defense. Our issue on this team is who can drive and penetrate

That 4th on Pedulla is maybe the worst foul call I have seen this year. Enough threes fell to win, but we also committed so many dumb mistakes. I liked Nickel asserting himself more, did not like much of the defense played in the post. Continued to make free throws, which is always key. Ultimately we picked up a home win over a team 30 spots lower in the NET rankings, did what we were supposed to do to a change.

This, coupled with the worst no call on Hunter's drive to the bucket and the felony worthy hit he took. He's lucky to only come away with an elbow stinger, because that looked nasty.

The hit on Hunter on what the second drive of the game? FSU was trying to injure him and get him out of the game. The no call made me wonder about the refs. That needs to be sent in to the NCAA.

47 fouls called is insane FAM
and they missed about half of fsus
I knew they could do it. Players got the win, crowd got the BACON!
FAM!
that was one ugly game! ugly dub. FAM!!!
Ugly win is still a good win.
Bacon FAM!!
Lynn Kidd had as many offensive boards (6) as Florida State FAM.
He had half of them on one trip unfortunately.

An FSU win is what kick started the 2021 run to winning the ACC tournament FAM! Just saying!
That would piss a lot of people off, two ACC championships in 4 years.
Maybe they could deny the ACC winner a trip to the playoffs? (sarcasm, of course).
Pretty sure that would be a foul, probably flagrant.
Wooo Hooo!!!!!! I get to watch a game FAM!!!!

I want everybody to think about how bad it has appeared that we have been this year.
We're 2 games back of the double-bye
Four games from first.
Doesn't bode well for the strength of the ACC this season.
