Poor Man's Trace McSorley

Embarassing.

He earned the right to talk his talk...he kicked our ass

Agreed, it's just a funny insult.

swear to God it's always us on the receiving end of these kinds of stories and outcomes.

Lol...dude is gonna get dominated by the rest of the SEC.

Luckily, he ran into a D.C. that spends most of his time running his LB out of plays.

Talk that talk....I'll see you at my local State Farm office in 10 months when I need to renew Homeowners, Diego.

Agree. I mean cool dude, glad you beat a poorly coached and overrated VT team. Enjoy getting crushed by that SEC schedule the rest of the year. You aren't that great.

I thought the kid was small, inaccurate and not fast. I was not impressed at all with him- he looked like what he was- a juco QB. Him slicing up a VT defense doesn't impress me and i'm being serious. His downfield throws were either wide open or inaccurate, and he didn't make people miss so much as he just ran past a washed out VT LB...we've seen that a million times. I honestly thought he would be better than he was. I saw a G5/juco small kid getting open yards at critical times- yay- VT defense for you.

For the most part I agree. His TD pass in the first half was a really good throw. Should have been broken up, but he couldn't have placed it any better than he did.

Just because we couldn't stop him, is that supposed to make it less true?

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

I thought he was the second coming of Taylor Heinicke. My apologies for all those that are triggered by this statement.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

He's STILL a poor man's Trace McSorley.

But he's right, VT should have been able to stop him.

He just caught VT with a slow defense, and apparently an inability to count zeros on the field on special teams.

We lost because our coaching staff was stupid enough to put two players with the same jersey number on the field at a key time, and because our offense scored 3 points in the first 30 minutes.

We did not lose because Diego Pavel was "unstoppable."

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

The funny part is that the actual quote was complimentary of Pavia, but good on them for turning it into bulletin board material.

I think Sam [Blumfield]'s experience helps, just kind of reaffirms what we think when we watch [Pavia] on film. This guy is the ultimate competitor. He's tough as nails. He extends plays. He's got no fear. Reminds me a little bit of a guy we had at Penn State named Trace McSorley, the way he plays the game. A very determined quarterback. And Sam just has nothing but respect for Diego. And thinks he's a heck of a quarterback, knows he's going to play his guts out and that those guys will play for him.

From Andy Bitter's press conference coverage earlier this week.

Guy can't even take a compliment. I bet Trace McSorley is a better sport.

The guy beat Tech when it counted. Sad but true.

Will

Maybe since we already have a license for Metallica with Sandman, we could just switch our intro to Sad but True at this point.

The guy won the Overtime lotto.

Overtime rules are basically a coin toss.

But sure, our defense didn't stop him, and our offense wasn't strong enough with our backup quarterback to score on three downs (I have no idea why the coaches put Drones back in for one play just to prove he was still injured, other than to keep our own offense confused).

To be fair, Drones might have wanted the shot and convinced the coaches to let him try. They should have been grownups and told him no, but this sort of thing isn't uncommon in football.

Deposit whiskey, receive wisdom.

I'm certain that's an accurate description of the situation.

I mean literally we just needed one stop at the end of the game and we don't hear any of this shit. He barely did enough to beat us even when we played like complete ass start to finish.

So while he can talk his shit, what he did wasn't that impressive. When I watched the game in real time, I admit I thought Vanderbilt was much improved and could steal a few SEC games this year. And that we're still a good team, we just came out slow. After a rewatch I've totally flipped that opinion. Neither of these teams are any good. Any theory of us taking the next step this year required huge improvement during the offseason and we looked exactly the same. Opposing teams are going to carve Vandy up in the passing game and feast on that offensive line.

I am not planning on re-watching. I hope Vandy does much better than expected. I want the second half Tech for the rest of the season.

All of these comments, if they become fact, bodes VERY badly for VT.
This makes me sad.
